How does the Golden Pyramid link to places...

Presumably built after the pyramid? The Curious Factory seems at least Victorian era or newer, the Toxic Landfill and 40 Below Fridge seem fairly modern, Pinball Zone and Hotel Horror seem 60s or 70s style and Crescent Moon Village is probably about 18-19th century or so.

So how does the pyramid link to those places? Was the pyramid built only a few years ago? Were places like Crescent Moon Village and the Curious Factory around in the Mushroom World equivalent of ancient Egypt or Aztec era South America? Does the pyramid automatically update the paintings to link to various places added later?

In serious: I don't really think theses places are there are totally real, maybe its a way that the Golden Diva found to to lure and kill the curious individuals that come near the pyramid who wants to rob the treasures inside the pyramid.
