For those who do like the character, how evil is she as a character?

Is she literally evil incarnate, like say, the average Mario RPG villain? An irredeemable complete monster like say, Lord Voldemort or Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter or the Master or Daleks from Doctor Who?

Evil but still nice enough to have a personality, like say, Bowser or some versions of Ganondorf?

A cruel jerk, but not exactly an outright villain? Like Wario himself?

A decent or not particularly awful person?

How evil is this character exactly?

I'm a little concerned about the I'm the coolest/cruelest girl you'll ever meet duality (iirc Touched uses the former and SSBB the latter). Based on her actions ingame, it seems like most of her witchery is semi-benign and mostly meant for her personal experimentation, although the end goals are questionable. If turning teachers into spoons is more than just a rhyme/gag for the song, that might bump her up to worse than Wario, at least a sociopath. Assuming it's a joke, however, I'd say like most of the WarioWare developers with free will, willingness to work with Wario and forgive his greed multiple times is probably a sign of decency.

She is the devil, she will rip out Wario's heart and take his loyal fans in just a snap.

Also, what kind of anime girl of sort owns a devil as a pet?

Doctor Who is a semi-obscure British TV show, and Daleks are robots that mindlessly fight after the protagonist. Think X-Nauts in Paper Mario 2

She speaks... like... this... and that... Miiverse masterpiece... vidjo... has Ashley... talk about herself... in... the third person (which I realize has somewhat different connotations in Japanese, but still)

Well, "slow" is too strong a term. More like, "is portrayed as a shy little kid". Which is what she is, lol.

I think she just really enjoys doing evil stuff (like growing giant monster flowers or controlling hellish tentacle beasts) or at least stuff on epic proportions.
And maybe she really does want to rule the world but I think she still wants to be liked by the people around her and wouldn't actually harm any innocent people... unless they piss her off.

About this subject and on Ashley being a boss in one of your hacks, I have some criticism I feel like I should tell you, CM30: Ashley or any of Wario's friends are not "villains" in any way shape or form, nor should they be portrayed as such. Them being Wario's friends is definitely not an excuse for this to happen, because Wario himself is not a villain, and they aren't dumb enough to go along with any destructive plans he would devise against Mario. They make microgames for him because it's honest work, and because most of them enjoy the games.

With that said, I mean no offense; you're free to develop whatever gaming ideas you'd like to implement, and I don't mean to say they suck.

It's because with platformers, there are very few ways to feature interesting characters. They can either be playable, enemies, or shop/town NPCs, and that's about it.

The latter is boring as hell, especially for an interesting character cast like the Wario one, the former is near technically impossible if you're using SMW or SMB X as a base, and the boss thing... makes a decent compromise to some degree.

The bosses in Nightmare Quest don't really make much sense anyway. I mean, Wario himself is one (hopefully before he becomes playable or something), K Rool is one, the Crystal King is one, Antasma is one, someone from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is another and there are a whole ton of Zelda cameos in one world.

It's more whatever random characters I like that end up as bosses, since it gives them a better role than background decoration.

Ashley likes to brag that she's some all powerful evil mastermind, but the reality is she's a novice witch with some emotional issues.

I always thought of Ashley as another misunderstood person, somebody who isn't truly evil but can be mean towards others. I don't think she's evil at all, though her English song can make her out as a mean person, which she probably is.

Short answer : She isn't evil (in the way Bowser and villains are), just very mean.

talk about herself... in... the third person

What Mario character doesn't talk in the third person...? lol

English Ashley > Japanese Ashley
