I already made such a poll back when the forum started, but the recent years have thrown a WildCard with the redemption arc of Mercury Steam.
And yeah video game nerds do this thing when a company does any moderately well-liked game (Platinum Games should do [Game with Melee combat]! Respawn should do [a game where you shoot people!]") and suddenly they're good for anything, but I really think Mercury Steam would be a great choice for Wario Land for reasons that are more than meet the eyes.
-Metroid Dread especially showns they have a genuine for thrilling boss battles and action gameplay
-Takehiko Hosokawa, the co-creator of Wario Land and director of Wario Land II and Wario Land 3, was heavily involved in Mercury Steam's Metroid Games, he was director on Samus Returns and assistant director on Dread. Any new Wario Land game would be surpervised by a previous developer of the IP as is customary for Nintendo so that they already have a working relationship with the most important Wario Land person still working at Nintendo gives them a serious legs up.
-If there any concerns that their games have learned more toward the serious and violent side, they did make a goofy and lighthearted game - specifically their very first title, Scrapland.
No seriously, the more I think about it the more it makes sense. But, what do you think?
