Logic behind the boss weaknesses in Wario Land 4?

Apparently, the Black Dog is good against Catbat, the Black Dragon against Cractus, the Big Lips against Aerodent and the Big Fist against Cuckoo Condor.

But while I get the first two (dogs don't like cats and plants don't like fire), why is Cuckoo Condor specifically weak to being punched? Is clock punching some sort of meme or something?

And why does kissing Aerodent hurt it so much?

I always interpreted Aerodent's case to be that kisses have a more powerful implication than hugs.

Well, Cuckoo Condor already kinda looks like he got punched in the face if you're honest, so a second time can't be good.

Also, Aerodent is tiny compared to all the others so to him the big lips must be this gigantic sucking slimy flesh void of moisture to get suffocated by.

Punching a clock does phisical damage to it. Think of it like hitting a clock wigh a hammer - it gets damaged and breaks.

As for Aerodent, that has something to do with Japanese culture. In japanese, the sound of lips kissing and the sound of a mouse squeeking are described with the same word

Oh god, I so didn't think of that. Reminds me of Fiery Cavern, which I only relatively recently realised was a reference to the phrase 'hell freezes over'.

That was a complete accident, I simply meant thata giant fist does phisical damage to a clock

I mean, that applies too. But then again, punching a cat, a bat, or a rat would probably pretty much kill it too. The pun idea seems pretty plausible.
