Puyo Puyo

I guess it would be worth to point out that Taiwan has been confirmed to recieve a localization for Puyo Puyo Chronicle:

Now obviously this doesn't mean anything for the west, but it is an interesting development. Especially since a push for localizations is something that has been slowly happening with Sega's western devisions as well and Sega 3D Classics Collection is a pretty big player in that regard, particulary with Sega of Europe and how they borderline refused to release it in their regions, which was met with much critisicsm until they fullfilled the requests and released it here, so while I won't get my hopes up you honestly never know what could happen.

Hey guyz, gow bout' Strange Klug's theme on Piano :

The tone quality isn't the greatest, due to the way it was recorded, but I still think it's nice, the fast middle part of the song (starting 1:04) sounds particulary neat that way if you ask me.

The official site now has all the characters out open (what we had before was a leak), so we he a better look at the mystery character:

She does not have the same voice actress as Arle and Klug, so we can likely count out Doppelganger Arle (a shame, but whatcanyahdo?). I have seen speculation that this might be some sort of Ally equivalent to Doppelganger/Dark Arle and I don't like that idea, though count me interested if we get some sort of twist in the sense of ''Ally was the villain all along and this is her true form'', that's something I would totally dig.

We have to wait and see, in the meantime I'm just still stupidly happy that 3D Lagnus is a thing.

We now have a translation of the interview:

So appearently the demand for a western Puyo Puyo Tetris release was already loud enoug to reach the current series producer and it's interesting that he brings up demand in Korea, with this bit of news from a few days ago in mind :
http://segabits.com/blog/2016/12/01/puyo-puyo-tetris-to-release-in-korea-on-february-9th-2017/

Combine this with the Taiwan Puyo Chronicle localization announcement and we are certainly seeing efforts to expand on Puyo Puyo's presence outside of Japan, even if the announcements so far are limited to asian countries.

With that said, the fact that western particapents were embraced to be part of this tournament as they were does give the impression that there is a genuine interest to give something to the western fanbase as well, whether or not SEGA thinks it's enough for them to try something bigger is up in the air.

Still, all things considered, this will continue to be an interesting time for western Puyo fans, especially with support for PuyoChroniclesForTheWest remaining loyal.

Puyo Chronicle is now on the japanese Eshop and we have a screeny of the mystery character:

It's an inverted Ally...kay.

On a different note, people have noticed that a new video on SEGA Europe's account has something rather specific in plain sight for a short moment:

People are speculating on whether or not this is some sort of tease and ya know, on one hand it's really nothing unusual for companys to have stuff based off their franchises standing around like that, even with Puyo's release history, at the same time though, SEGA Europe are also the ones who teased 3D Classics Collection coming to the west, with Puyo Puyo Tsu I might add, so it's not hard to see where people are seeing potential for a tease.

And in an odd chain of events the video is gone. No idea why that is, though it would be some shit if the Puyo sighting had something to do with it, perhaps even giving people suspicions about something they weren't supposed to know yet, given that there are several tweets mentioning it and it was brought up in the comment section one can't help but wonder.

Again, could be anything, but it would sure be something if that was the reason.

Souw, there is now a clean rip of the Puyo Puyo Chronicle final boss theme and it's so friggin' goooood.
Just be warned that the video shows and names the final boss and mystery character, so if you don't want to see that beware.
Plus I changed my mind, Rafisol is actually pretty awesome

It's kinda funny for me to think that it's been almost a year already since I started my blog, but it's been a fun ride and really made me appreciate certain things, like the weirdness of Puyo manga content, I know that weird or even raunchy material isn't anything unusual in japanese mange, even in ones based on family friendly franchises, but I still love uploading stuff like this:

Just for the reactions it get's which can be amusement or bewilderment.

On a bit of a side note I always find it interesting how the internet makes every fanbase seem more prominent than it really is.
