QUESTION: How do Trophy points work?

So, I have been thinking about something rather insignificant, as I usually do. I have several questions in regards to the Trophy points of this forums.

- How are Trophy Points awarded? Are they assigned automatically or is it a manual process?
- Do they have a purpose? I don't see why they should have, but I'm asking anyway.
- Are there going to be more "achievements" in the future? The objectives seem kind of limited, looks like there is room for more awards... I'm kind of a completionist myself!

I think it's literally based on how many people like your posts. For instance, you get 30 points if your posts have been liked 500 times or more in total.

They are indeed assigned automatically. They serve the purpose of changing your title. But that's pretty much useless anyway nowadays, as you can change your title manually.
I do agree that there could be some more trophies. I think there are too few. There could be higher tiers of the existing trophies, but new ones could also be added, like for amount of time since joining, or referrals. I don't think these forums have a referrals system in place though, unfortunately.

The trophy points and the ranks are entirely seperate. The ranks are by post count, the trophy points by likes.

I don't think I've ever seen a XenForo site where people have paid much attention to the trophy thing.

What do you mean, "the trophy points by likes"? Trophy points are awarded by trophies. There are trophies awarded by amount of like received, but there are also other trophies. Higher tiers give more points.
The new rating system makes it a bit less fair though, as people will often get an "agree" rating instead of a like, and those don't count towards the likes that are counted for the trophies. So I think the likes trophy should count all positive ratings, somehow.
