Think that there are TOO many characters?

Koopaul

Yes. I'm that Koopaul.
I loved the cast of the original Wario Ware. Very diverse, funny, great designs. I liked some of the addition made over the years. But now I think some of the new characters are unnecessary.

Which Wario Ware characters do you think are not needed? Which would you be okay with them ditching in the next game?

Here's mine:

18-Volt
There nothing special about him. He's just a big goofier version of 9-Volt. Unlike 9-Volt's mom (5-Volt) who has an interesting dynamic with 9-Volt's personality that can add funny scenarios, 18-Volt doesn't do much.

Young Cricket and Master Mantis
These guys aren't very funny, cute, weird, or anything. They're just generic kung-fu master and apprentice... oh and the Master is mute! I mean they could have Master Mantis spout off wise words that are completely nonsensical and that would be funny... but no.

What about you guys?

Nope, I don't think so, if you really want to be strict than none of the characters are neccessary, you could easily just have a faceless microgame collection and nothing would change gameplaywise, even Wario himself doesn't 100% NEED to be here.

The characters and their world add a flavor and charm to the series that are techincally un-neccessary but still nice to have, not to mention that they stopped expanding the main cast after Smooth Moves anyway.

I think when you add too many characters to a cast it takes away from some other characters. All the characters fill some sort of role. They have a distinct personality that makes everything feel well rounded. Think about the cast of Scooby-Doo. Do they need anymore than Shaggy, Scooby, Freddy, Velma, and Daphne? Would adding Scrappy Doo or Scooby Dumb make the cast any better?

I think it's good for 9 volt to have a buddy, I don't think he would have that much charm without 18 volt

Explain. How does 18-Volt add to 9-Volt's character? How does the addition of 18-Volt make any scenario 9-Volt is in any better or more interesting?

9 volt alone is one kid but having 18 volt has the big guy little guy duo that I find to make some pretty interesting characters. It gives 9 volt a competitive nature to compete against 18 volt with trying to get high scores

I think 18-Volt added a lot to 9-Volt's character, in the original game 9-Volt was pretty much just the Nintendo fanboy of the group (who also likes to skate), where as
Twisted gave him someone to bounce of, the two Volts don't just hang out together, they also had a short rivalry (the Do it Yourself games) and an even shorter falling out (Smooth Moves).

You can argue that it doesn't add that much, but I don't see 9-Volt going solo for all eternity would be better, at least now he has someone to interact with.

I don't think so IMO, they all add a lot of flavor and charm to the series and it's world and while they're not all interesting, they're all still fun characters at the end of the day and they all generally round each other well. So I'm good with the cast we have right now. Plus it's good to have variety.
