I'm a school Janitor

The money is decent, I have a pension and I didn't need schooling to get this job, so no complaints.

And I like working in the evenings anyways.

Yeah that's what I've been trying to do. We have barely started learning programming in school. The French school system is very slow in the computer science field. At least I got to have free max grades for writing the most basic Python scripts known to man.

(Though I should stop procrastinating about the learning more)

Eh, it's not just the French system. Most educational systems suck at teaching programming. We were taught barely anything about it here in the UK (back in the 90s/2000s), and the US system is pretty bad from what I hear as well.

You're not gonna learn any meaningful programming through the school curriculum alone unfortunately.

Actually I want to improve the videogames that I made for my college degree too, I can tell you some of my university videogames if you want it.
 
i'm a student so technically i'm unemployed, but i did do a video translation work as some sort of a side gig recently. it was for youtube videos of a korean pro fighting game player, and he has some moderate amount of western viewers so he needs english subtitles for his videos. the former translator (which i happen to be close with) had to quit to focus on his study, and he introduced me to him.

i got fired after 6 months but honestly i will say i didn't do a terrible job, i even saw some people in the comments pointing out how clever some of the subtitles are! but i was just a bit too slow doing it, trying to sync the subs to milliseconds level...

while translation isn't what i study for, (it kind of came naturally as i learned english) i was trying to figure out if my academic path is actually what i want and if i actually want to devote this much effort for just a job at the time, and this was a great experience for me as it taught me not "fully working hard" might actually be okay. i always felt like i was such a lazy person for not "fully trying" because of how society heavily weighs jobs
