What's that face in the WL4 Sound Room entrance?

Just a Wario Fan

Most of those who have played Wario Land 4 probably have wondered this at some point: What are those eyes in the entrance to the Sound Room, looking around but seemingly not doing anything else? They cannot be of Shokora because those eyes can also be seen when Princess Shokora is already present in main room in the form of the Black Cat. I've always theorised they belong to some spirit that can also take the form of that Wario cosplayer that you can see on the TV screen inside the Sound Room.

Thoughts?

You know, I used to experiment with those shifty eyes, and I remember how they always froze when Wario is facing north in their direction. A spooky little oddity...
I also like the notion that it's the Golden Diva spying on Wario behind his back (they remind me of her squinty default/masked eyes), though like you, JAWF, I reckon I had the same idea long ago, linking them to the Wario imposter/imposters.

I might indeed very well be the Golden Diva, on the lookout for Wario and other possible intruders. Or it might be the soul of one of the bosses.
What I find particulary strange is that the eyes are present when Wario enters the Room, but he doesn't seem to be scared by them at all, and there's no other interaction, both in-game with Wario and in the form of cutscenes. We see Wario entering the Room and half a seond later we're in. Without any mention of those creepy eyes. As if they aren't even there.

Well, he enters the chamber by sliding down a giant stone tongue. He never acknowledges the eyes, but then, I wouldn't expect that kind of detail on the map screen in a game like this (maybe in an RPG or a point and click game where you can interact with the background).

I doubt they have any deeper meaning or relation to the plot. Most likely just a random quirky/spooky little background piece to flesh out the tone of the haunted pyramid and give it more character (just like your spooky eyes in the dark woods trope found in every cartoon since time began....)
