"What's the best console to play X game series?" is a question I found very fun to think about for some reason. So here's my take on it:

Side games are games that neither fits in the Wario Land or WarioWare category. These include:
  • Wario's Woods
  • Wario World
  • Wario: Master of Disguise
  • Game & Wario
I didn't include Mario & Wario because it feels more like Mario game than a Wario game. Plus Mario is at front at the title unlike in Mario & Wario.
I didn't include Game & Wario as a WarioWare title as it has much similarities with the WarioWare series as Wario World has with the Wario Land series.

WarioWare: Twisted was included with the "(kinda???)" text in the GameCube listing because weirdly enough I researched and found you can play it with the Game Boy Player though unconventionally. Take a look:

Things to keep in mind:
  • Released Super Nintendo was the Super Game Boy that allowed you to play Game Boy games on the console (weirdly enough, it doesn't support Game Boy Color games)
  • The Game Boy Color supports Game Boy games.
  • The Game Boy Advance supports Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.
  • Released GameCube was the Game Boy Player that allowed you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games games on the console.
  • The DS supports Game Boy Advance.
  • The Wii supports GameCube games.
  • The 3DS supports DS games.
  • The Wii U supports Wii games.
  • The Nintendo Switch Online service makes some Wario games available on the Switch and Switch 2.
  • The Switch 2 supports Switch games.
  • Games that used be obtainable through obsolete virtual stores are not accounted for.
  • This list is true as of August 8th 2025.

... I have no idea why I felt like listing all those things you all already knew about, and putting all titles in italic but I did Grrr:. Anyways, I found the the console with the most Wario Land games were the GBA and GCN with 4 games total. The console with the most WarioWare games is the DS with 5 games total.

Now if you just wanna play a game with Wario in the title (minus Mario & Wario) then you need a GameCube with 8 games total.

To conclude: I don't know why I did this. Cirta out!

Uh, I think you missed some. For example, the 3DS also had a Virtual Console with the following games:

  1. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
  2. Wario Land II
  3. Wario Land 3
  4. Wario's Woods (NES)
While the Wii U Virtual Console had these games:
  1. Wario's Woods (NES)
  2. WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!
  3. Wario Land 4
  4. WarioWare: Touched!
  5. Wario: Master of Disguise
So the 3DS actually supports 9 Wario games, as does the Wii U. This puts them both joint first.

I didn't account for them since they are obtained through now discontinued virtual stores. These specific versions can't be obtained legally anymore if I'm not mistaking. You'd have to buy a used console whose ex-owner already bought them.

True, but for those who had the consoles at the time, they would be the best options.

I guess there are private eShop replacements too, though the legality is questionable.

I see what you mean. I hesitated to include them but since I included the NSO version of Wario Land 4 which came out after those stores got discontinued. I figured it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

As for the private eShop replacements, like you mentioned, they are legally questionable. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure you have to mod your console to obtain them in which case, you might as well install homebrew emulators and add games for the newer consoles.

Now, is getting Game Boy Player and WarioWare: Twisted! to play the game on GCN by twisting your console a more reasonable and accessible way to play the game then playing Touched on Wii U with the VC.... I don't really know...

Yeah... I might be looking too much into it. Part of me feel like I shouldn't add it but I totally see but I totally see why one would.

Might add them when I have the time.
