Why are people blaming Ware, for Warios Smash potrayal?

I never got why people blame Ware for it, considering that Wario isn't really any different here than he is in Land, sure he doesn't get as much action than he does in Land but other than that he is rather unchanged, his buttmonkey moments don't come of as out of character, since Wario(despite all his badass qualitys) is still a silly character at times , I think it gives him a additional edge: silly jerkass in his spare time and an unstopable one man army on his adventures.
Even the vulgarity isn't as prominent as Smash would make you think, Nosepicking has been a habbit of his since his debut and I can only recall one microgame (in Smooth Moves) in which he farted.
The only truly gross moment for me was his first dentist visit in touched and even than: gross up close ups, are a common element of comedy, so it isn't even exclusive to Wario...
Oh, and I don't recall Wario ever walking like Mr.Game & Watch either (unless you are REALLY picky and count the DIY showcase Helmet microgame, but that came out after Brawl, so it couldn't be an influence)...

Were they not even able to animate him right in Brawl? He looked like he was missing frames. Surprises me they got it right this time.

Smash wiki claims that it was supposed to emulate the choppy animations of the cutscenes, which I don't believe in the slightest.
I guess enough people complaint to give him (smooth moves) more fluent animation.

It's not the fault of Wario Ware.
It's because people (like Sakurai, MatPat from the game theorists and many others) flanderize Wario in all the wrong ways. They somehow think that because the microgames sometimes have toilet humor in them (really just sometimes) that this is somehow part of Wario's character (Even though most of the weirder games like the nose picking were part of Mona's collection in the first game).

Then I think a big part of it are also the stereotypes.
Wario is fat. -> The stereotype is that fat guys are gross and fart a lot, etc. -> They see toilet humor in a game with a fat guy. -> They think it's joking about Wario being gross. -> They remember the toilet humor most of all because it's unusual for Nintendo. -> So when they think of Wario they think about how the games are joking about him being gross. -> And that's what they remember about him. More than his greed, his strength, his adventures.

Then they exaggerate those fat guy jokes and base his moves around them.

People think it's funny to make fun of fat people. And now that's all they do with Wario.

So how are they supposed to take him seriously anymore.?

If Wario had never been fat then people wouldn't associate the small amount of toilet humor with him like that. If he was just bulky and muscular like Dribble then they would still focus on the greed or the strength.

But that's just my theory.

...my GAME THEORY. :U

ooooh i'm glad someone has finally come out and said it

People call smash wario "WarioWare Wario". I disagree. He's... Sakurai Wario.

Yeah, that's exactly it. Sakurai has an incredible amount of freedom with the Smash Bros series (especially in Brawl and SSB4), so every character it includes is presented through the prism of Sakurai's own personal interpretation (with the exception of third parties and maybe Pokemon).

It just so happened that the prism was less kind to Wario than it was to most.

Slowing Brawl down a bit reveals that he does have as many frames as everyone else, he just moves his limbs ridiculously fast. I actually tried imitating it, it doesn't feel very comfortable...

Apparently, it was tiring for Wario, too, since he moves somewhat normally in Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U. Still wish they fixed his representation instead of not only keeping it, but making it worse in some ways...

At this point I'm just wondering whether they actually know how much Wario fans hate his portrayal.

The better question is whether they even care.

For all we know the Smash team could consider their potrayel to be the "true" essence of Wario, them treating the Waft like his treatmark ability certainly points in that direction.

i notice you guys are blaming the smash team whereas in most other forums we blame sakurai, any reason? They probably think it personifies ganondorf bevause he has the triforce of power so it makes him strong
