Good grief seeing posts about Super Mario Land 1 and 2 online makes me cringe. Saw someone legitimately say the former was a 'failure', and others act like it sold worse than Super Mario Galaxy.

As someone who loves both games, statistically speaking, both Mario Land 1 and 2 outsold either Galaxy game.

As someone who dislikes both games, I don't really see the necessity to hate on games so much to the point you genuinely make up fake statics lol. You can just say you don't like Super Mario Land because it's not very fun to control and leave it at that.

I don't get it either. I like the Mario Land games and I like the Mario Galaxy games.

But I guess it could also be that people didn't grow up with the older games and assume all of them sold worse than they did. It's probably common for people to think that the titles from 64 onwards are somehow the best selling ones.

Am I crazy or is October way too early to put up Christmas decorations? Because that's what this town did...

They're selling eggnog where I'm at. Now, I love me some fucking eggnog, but it seems a bit early. Guess I can't complain that much, but still.

Eggnog and Christmas decorations? That's insane.

New Year's decorations is even crazier...

I should put on my Christmas profile picture early and start using the Christmas theme....
I just realized I don't have a Halloween profile picture for here. Tragic.

True, but that would be rather EVIL.

Oh fuck I just remembered I didn't even make my username Spooky Baker
oh well, too late now, if I change it now I'll either have to keep it Spooky Baker through November or change it to Baker Man halfway through November, change it to Jolly Baker halfway through December, and then back to Baker Man halfway through January
Better luck next year I guess
(and I promise I'll try to make it Jolly Baker on time)
Does anyone else look at Wario World as the true final send off to the Wario Land series? It came out the same year as the first WarioWare and the vibe felt much more faithful than Shake It.

I agree with CM30 on this one. Though I admit Wario World was closer to the original Wario Lands in terms of how crude it was artistically, even though it was much more exaggerated.

Each subsequent Wario platformer (1994-2004) kept pushing the envelope with the weirdness and crudeness. In a way, Wario World is the grand finale and peak of how weird a Wario game's atmosphere could get.

That's actually a way better way to look at it. I guess instead you can look at Wario World as the last Wario game that was faithful. It was rude, raunchy and weird, where Shake It was much more fluffy.

Though Master of Disguise also had attitude and weird bosses, but it isn't known for being as well liked as the Wario Land games or Wario World.
God YouTube is so dull nowadays. Once in a blue moon I'll get some amazing project or documentary suggested, but usually it's just... nothingness. The same generic formula following slop found everywhere else online now

Yeah, that's why I have my recommendations off and almost exclusively watch videos from my subscribed channels.
