There's a "cult" show in Australia called Danger 5, and it's probably one of the strangest to come out of the west. With episode titles like "Fresh Meat for Hitler's Sex Kitchen" you'd think it's X-rated filth, but don't be fooled. It's a terrific show, and really well-made. I highly recommend it.

This thread was prompted by me posting me the hilarious GI Joe Extreme live-action segments in the Random Post threads, but the main animated series has great camp value as well. Unfortunately the youtube copyright bots have made it so that I can't link to the hilarious overacting of Rampage (easily the best GI joe character) or the bizarre, Youtube Poop-esque musical insert sequences, but the intro tells you EVERYTHING you need to know.

one thing I'll never get is that one of the character refers to himself as the decidedly not extreme name "Melvin", but he's called "Metal head" in the actual episodes. They never call him Melvin once.

Maybe I over complicate things when it comes to music, the fact that he seems to be a guitarist called " Melvins " might come from the band from the same name " The Melvins ", the lead in that band is also a guitarist.

For the longest time I did not know the actor who plays Tick in the live action show is Kronk, Joe Swanson. The dude seems to play one archtype of this in every show he's in.

Holy cow! Somebody else who knows The Tick! Always loved the cartoon series and live action series. Batmanuel is truly the greatest. A terrific show that got cancelled far too soon. (It only lasted for nine or so episodes, I think...)

Yeah it's a shame, watched both the cartoon and the live action show as a kid and I really enjoyed it(probably because the insane characters reminded me of EWJ and both are bugs anyway so that's a plus). Unsure if there is a dvd for the complete series after all it's so short anyways but don't think that ever happened.

I've been amusing myself by watching the foreign intros to the awful american Street Fighter cartoon

Similar to GI Joe Extreme, the lesser-known Action Man cartoon by DIC also had live-action segments bookending the episodes. They had slightly better production values and were actualy relevant to the plot of the episdoes, but I mean, look at the amazing special effect at the 4:00 mark

The cartoon is quite something too. Check out the sophisticated take on computer hacking

The best thing about Danger 5 is their match against Hitler's mech. aside from beaches with a bunch chicks the second best thing about Australia.
