Were some "Wario people" involved in Super Mario Run?

Okay, so Wario himself isn't in this game, but there are some hints of that team's other games that have worked their way into this.

Playable Daisy, for starters. And the dungeon theme from SML is part of the remixes in Remix 10 mode.

"Remix 10".

..."Remix 10". Sound familiar?

No idea about who was on board on the Super Mario Run dev team, but I'd be very shocked if it's Super Mario Land elements, the Foreman Spike and Sky Pop mystery suits in Mario Maker, the return of 2D Metroid or anything Ashley related in the past years can't all be traced back to the SPD1/EAD merge in one way or another.

That's a good point there too. Seems the Mario Land series and the Wario series are getting at least a tiny bit more attention in the last few years or so, at least in the Mario games.

Well, it's hard to be super sure one way or the other. But... at least part of me feels they did a pretty good job with the Wario shout outs in Mario Party 10, and I also remember some aspect of that Wario themed Mario Kart 7 track which referenced Wario Land... so that's probably more in those two franchises cases than ever before.

What were the shoutouts in MP10?

Companies such as Camelot do justice to Wario. But I'm surprised Namco, a team that also adds Wario references, didn't get the chance to add Wario Land into Super Smash.
