I think that wasn't the "curse" per se, but rather the bait in a bait-and-switch of epic proportions (think "computer game with a virus inside", but the virus actually burns your house down). Shokora made a deal with the Golden Diva promising powers beyond belief, but that all came with a nasty Trojan curse that made her incredibly weak to the Golden Diva specifically, which is why she just bounced off with a star effect instead of dealing damage.
It's hard to look back at past conversations like that, don't be too hard on yourself, things happen. (I struggle with this sort of thing a lot too)
If she ever shows up in anything ever again, I hope they give her the ability to shapeshift again (i know it was due to a curse, but I think it's a really cool ability)
