So apparently the Nintendo development website is called WarioWorld.com

I think I remember him asking at some point in the video "Why did they choose Wario for the website?" and while there's probably not much meaning behind it, I remember thinking, is it because of R&D1? I think, with the way they worked on SML2 and created Wario, and then got the go ahead to make SML3/Wario Land, Wario exists and got popular because of them. So to have a character represent working with Nintendo, I think having Wario would be the most fitting pick, Wario World and Shake It were even outsourced too

Something tells me, after all of the video info, is that somehow back then they related Wario to gamedev, might be too simple of an explanation but thats how i see it
