A lot of women with short hair tend to look gender neutral, imo.

True, though I'm not trying to make look gender neutral, but only acting that way. It's also the reason why I try to give her yellow clothes instead of pink (even though she wore pink at some point).

It's easier if she has a specific personality to reflect her mannerisms.

Yes, it would! She has a personality, though I'm still trying to get used to animation to do something that reflects her unknown personality.
