    Wario Land 4 2

DecapAttack music in a Wario game actually fits, due to the oddball theme of both. What a pleasant surprise from a 90's childhood relic. @tahutoa What do you know of PigmaskColonel? I saw that you'd made a playlist and written a little piece on his work. I wasn't aware he'd closed his...

    Fixing Wario In Smash Bros

That bloody article is STILL around? "Why Does Wario Fart?" contains a lot of false information and fabricated assumptions from the writer. It does contain some truth, but it's a lazy, poorly researched essay that brainwashes fans who don't know any better. I was cringing when I first read it...

What's the best final boss fight in the Wario Land series?

Demon Head is still my pick of the litter. No other final boss gave me more anxiety or difficulty in the Wario platformer series (especially his second encounter in the secret Hard Mode). I find him to be the most intriguing final boss of the series. The game's backstory never mentions this...

What is your favorite Wario's Power Up?

King Dragon Wario from VB Wario Land is formidable, however I do like Bull Wario just as much. The horned viking-style helmet befits Wario's looting and plundering (although thankfully he leaves out the raping).

What's that face in the WL4 Sound Room entrance?

Well, he enters the chamber by sliding down a giant stone tongue. He never acknowledges the eyes, but then, I wouldn't expect that kind of detail on the map screen in a game like this (maybe in an RPG or a point and click game where you can interact with the background). I doubt they have any...

    Thoughts on Wario's Woods?

Tricky to say whether it's intentional, but the Wario's Woods games were from R&D1, and the WarioWare team are very proud of their heritage since they are always referencing R&D1 products in WarioWare (you only need to play the first game to see a veritable museum of it).

Kimchi is a popular Korean food made of salted fermented vegetables like cabbage and radish, swimming in seasoning. Basically, it's rotting zombified vegetables in ooze. It's so vile and potent it stinks out your house, attaches itself to you, and pollutes anything in your fridge that isn't...

If I were cast down to hell and had to choose my dinner from a set menu, the main course would be a large vat full of... urghhh..... kimchi. (And of course, the reason I'm in hell to begin with is for murdering my little brother who eats the stuff daily and turns the fridge into a leaky gas...

Sounds like it was quite the labour of love/passion project for Night Dive. I don't think I've ever seen you recommend a game without a hint of reserve or playful cynicism before now, so it must be a keeper!

    Do you like Wario-Man?

I would not call myself a fan of Wario-Man though he's a great vehicle for laughs. He represents the silliness and insanity of WarioWare exclusively, which is why I think he'd be very out of place in a Wario Land title (different style of Wario). A great mascot for WarioWare, if nothing else.

Well, I just finished my breakfast and decided today is the day I'll start my new master file in it. I'll just stagger through it at a leisurely pace and enjoy the ride. Such a charming little game to have over tea or coffee when I take a break from course work. All those blood-thirsty reptiles...

What's that face in the WL4 Sound Room entrance?

You know, I used to experiment with those shifty eyes, and I remember how they always froze when Wario is facing north in their direction. A spooky little oddity... I also like the notion that it's the Golden Diva spying on Wario behind his back (they remind me of her squinty default/masked...

Holy mackerel... Now there's a surprise, considering how Acclaim are just dust and whispers on a gentle nostalgic breeze. I wonder who secured the rights to those old games (I also wonder HOW they did it, and whether we'll see other Acclaim games like Vexx or the Legends of Wrestling titles...)...

You horrid little... I've got three packets of eucalyptus soap here, and I'm going to stick my arm through the computer screen and fill your mouth with every last bar if you don't hold your tongue, boy.

G'day there, MW! You betcha, the issue was eventually solved. I posted about it when I returned last Saturday. I'm not setting up shop like the old days but I wanted to say hello and contribute a thread or two. I invested sooo much time here writing up history essays, research, music...

    In Search of Wario Websites

I really hope we can resurrect the WarioWare sites before long. The one I'm personally gunning for is the Mega PARTY Game$ site, which had microgame and elevator highscores put up from Nintendo staff that you were encouraged to beat (I still remember jotting them all down after school back in...

Heheh. Yes, I was muttering that to myself an hour ago. They list every version of Mario Party/Golf/Tennis under the 2003 sun, but they left out one of the finest Wario platformers ever made... Hokey is the word for it.

Tremendous news! I managed to get through to the archivist and he solved the loading issue with the European site. So here it is in all its tacky, resuscitated glory... Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to document the lot with my Camtasia screen recorder (before it slips through the cracks...
