Basically, Japanese people don't speak English at all, or at the very least at a very basic level.
There are exceptions, most of which work or live near tourist hotspots.
Where I live there are no tourists, so everyone here speaks Japanese exclusively.

As a result, Japanese people usually have websites only used by Japanese people, and are unaware of websites used by anyone else.
Though YouTube, Twitter, and Discord have become quite popular in recent years.
 
Ive heard that few Japanese speaking people speak english, and also that most of them dont participate in english speaking internet, from youtube channels run by Japanese-American married couples.

(One of them had a funny joke where the Japanese husband was watching cat videos, asking his American wife if they were memes, haha)

I hope you find this site friendly and welcoming, though : 3 The people here are almost always very friendly, the biggest issue here that weve had was one member with a bit of an obsession with a fictional character causing a bit of trouble : p
