I'll try not to mess too much with what has been done, only stuff from now on. We'll see. And the more you signal the easier it is. If you need, report problems so we know! ;)

That's the thing, I didn't see it as a "crisis". It was just people arguing. By the time I got there people were being pretty reasonable. Both sides had good arguments for or against the shoutbox so...yeah...
I mean... in the end, it wasn't up to me whether or not to keep the shoutbox.
Or was there some other "crisis" that I overlooked? Did people call each other bad names? :V

Thing is, I'm just the kinda guy who thinks people getting into a heated argument is not a big deal. Even if 2 people started calling each other names, I wouldn't go and silence them, I'd urge them to resolve it like mature adults.
Bannings or Timeouts should be reserved for real issues, imho.

I'm not the type who'd go "Ooooooh, you said something mildly crude. It's a 1 week time-out for you, pal!"
I'm more like "Come on, guys. Can't you just get along?" at best and "Eh, it'll blow over." at worst.

Besides all that, I simply don't spend as much time on the forums as I used to . I'm pretty busy with work stuff (I shouldn't even be here right now) so when I DO get to look at the reports then it's often stuff from weeks ago that did seem to have blown over.
...or it's stuff that simply wasn't necessary to be reported in the first place. Like, someone saying something """inappropriate""".
When it's really, really dire and you need to contact me as soon as possible then it's probably best to send me a PM.

I guess from my end it felt like a crisis because of the overwhelming opposition I had compounded by me also not being very popular among the newer members

I assume it's pretty standard stuff. Be a long time member, contribute a lot, have no problems with anyone, and come off as level-headed and responsible.

Edit: Though I don't think there's any need for even more staff members atm.
