Could Good-Feel make a better Wario Land game now?

Honestly, I'm somewhat hopeful they could. Wario Land Shake It was their first attempt at making a 2D platformer (or heck, any type of action game) after all, and the likes of Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Woolly World have gotten better reviews in the meantime.

So I suspect another Wario Land game by the studio could work quite well. They could even bring back the 'impossible to die' aspect from Epic Yarn and recreate the feel of Wario Land 2 and 3!

Despite Shake It's flaws it was a damn good first crack at a Wario Land game. I don't see why they can't do it again.

Also as good as the games art is I think a grittier style is in order. The drawings are so nice but but it just ain't WARIO ya know. But then again if WarioWare list it's grittier ametuer (not in a bad way) look then why not WarioLand.

Following WarioLand two of a kind gameplay style pattern the next installment should be a fresh yet familiar take and I think good feel could deliver. Kirby's Epic Yarn wasn't the game I wanted but for what it is it's fun and there's a lot of collecting shit just like how WarioLand has a lot of collecting shit KEY has exploration and WL has exploration. That's not to say it should be the same, gods no. 100%ing Kirby's Wool Fetish requires lots of replays and bead grinding. But that was like two console generations ago and I'm sure they've improi. Unlike most I think Yoshi's Woolly World was a treat so perhaps Wario's Fleece Fortune will be a treat too.

Actually it could end being mediocre but I just want another Wario platformer I'm desperate gosh darn it.

Good-Feel games are pleasing to view, but I don't find them particularly engaging to play--although co-op Woolly World brought some fun. Of course I'd be excited for any Wario Land revival and would remain hopeful (especially if we saw a proper return of transformation-based puzzles) but I'm not so sure Good-Feel could deliver, well, the goods.

Wario Land needs edge.

Because the only thing Shake It does well is its art, its gameplay is watered down from 4 and nothing is memorable. All of Good-Feel games are like this, they make decent games that generally play safe but all of them are always forgotten pretty quickly, if the other games they made are anything to go by I believe they would follow the same suit once again. So instead of "just give me another meh Wario Land game from the same company, I'll take anything" how about we strive for much more that Wario deserves?

Not saying Shake It is bad, it isn't but it does have a handful of problems that annoy me and many other people also believe its pretty bland as a whole. I'd rather just see someone who is better....Retro Studios maybe? Or maybe even the people who made Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon (Next Level Games?)

It would be a lot nicer if Nintendo themselves would take a whack again but I doubt they ever would.

I definitely think Retro Studios would do a good job with the Wario Land series. Their level design skills are great, and their style seems perfect for a Wario Land title. Their name being attached would make the new game sell better too...

Next Level Games would be interesting, though I have a harder time seeing that. Loved Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, but... I'm not sure they've ever made a platformer as of this time. Do they have the needed skills and experience for that sort of game? Hard to tell.

Maybe if Hiroji Kiyotake helps direct it with Next Level Games, there could be potential afterall he wasn't involved with Shake It! and that may had been really why it doesn't stand out from the other Wario titles. I mean if you take a look at Zelda BotW, it turned out to be a pretty great game as they trained new people to take a new spin on the series, so I think Wario could have that same potential. (Even though its been eight years since Hiroji has been involved in anything at all)

Also remember, Wario Land would be getting rebooted and revived so I think this is very important for any development studio to make future titles as well.

Nah but NHL Hitz Pro gave them all the bruisin', shoulder-tackling experience they need

Probably. I think they might not be the best to do it for reasons stated by others, but any good Wario Land game would be good, I think!

Interesting. Yoshi's Woolly World is probably going to be my favourite video game once I finish it (I guess I could say it's my favourite already, but there might be some huge disappointments in store still, and my second favourite video game would be Yoshi's Island, which is very good).

I think I've said this before but I think Ubisoft would make a really good Wario Land game. Specifically the team behind Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. That's the kind of style I'd like to see with Wario Land and the kind of zany slapstick humor too!

Interesting! You might have said it before, but I haven't heard it before.

I liked Kirby's Epic Yarn, but Yoshi I wasn't really too into, actually-- I think it's because of how laid-back and also how simple KEY is-- I can stand 2.5D to a certain point, but when it comes to YuhWuhWuh I think the depth was off-putting slightly. Also, you don't need to bead grind though, you just need to be That Guy, the guy who grabs all the studs in Lego games as soon as they show up.

I definitely think they could, and I'd like to see them take another go at it. As someone said earlier, Shake It was their first time making a platformer and while I loved Shake It, it shows. I think their level design has improved a LOT since Shake It. Not to mention that when it comes to art style, they always go the full 9 yards.

I just wonder when they're going to have "free time". A lot of the stuff they've done lately feels very same-y. I mean they released Wooly World, then ported it to 3ds, announced another Yoshi game and are now porting Epic Yarn to 3ds. I'm glad that the Yoshi series is in the hands of a good (i.m.o.) developer and not Arzest, but I'd really like to see what Good-Feel can do with Wario 11 years later, or maybe even make their own game. I remember Epic Yarn was supposed to star Prince Fluff before they decided to Kirbify it.

Yeah, agreed. GoodFeel is certainly spending a lot of time on ports and direct sequels at the moment. Would be nice to see them give Wario another try or something, just to move away from being 'the Yoshi studio'.

Then again, seeing them do something new would be nice too. Up until recently they'd taken on three different platformer series (Wario, Kirby, Yoshi). Why not another one?
