How do you prefer the Flaming Wario transformation?

Where was the transformation better?

It's not really talked about a lot, but the Flaming Wario transformation has changed a bit between games, in Land 2 & 3 Wario will go up in flames after a certain amount of time has passed, where as in Land 4 & Shake It it takes three bounces against walls for that to happen, which variation do you prefer?

I'm fine with both variations, but will give the 4/Shake It version a slight edge, because the Flaming Wario section in 3's Cave Of Flames always irritates me, sure you can jump franticly to make it easier for yourself, but even then it's hard to predict whether or not you will have enough time to reach the blocks before your ''whole body in flames'' phase ends, that's the only instance where something like this comes up, but even then I still like the Land 4/Shake It version more, if only because it's far easier to gauge when the second part of the transformation will kick in.

It's funny to see a thread about a particular transformation but definitely agree, 4/shake it's variation of flaming wario is something I'd take over the earlier concepts. Mostly because I find it very irritating as said frantically jumping about hitting walls or any other object. Without a direct timer you'd be forced to land on water which can mean going backwards and having to traverse all the way back in certain instances. Mainly in WL3 where the game is pretty much a maze. With 4/shake it there is that timer as well as you could easily control where you'd have to go without the screen crunch, as I noticed the sprites in WL4 are more level'd compared to the previous WL sprites making it easier to see where or when you might hit a wall or a fire block(not sure what they're called they're the blocks with a fire print on them.)

I prefer the Wario Land 2/3 version because it has room for longer puzzles. And i liked the timing.

The thing with Wario Land 4, they just suddently changed it. And i've seen a Blind LPer, who, hacing completed Wario Land 2/3, expected it to stay the same, and so, for the puzzle in Toy Block Tower, kept facing the wrong way...

I think I prefer the latter one, too. I was never able to really get when the effect would kick in in the original. I thought it had something to do with hitting the walls, but I never got to know for sure. Is there a timer? Perhaps one could check using an emulator, but I've never done it.

From what I can tell, there is some sort of "timer", but it only drains while Wario is touching the floor, so it you contiously jump, it takes longer.
But still, i enjoy the challange. Wario Land 4's was to easy for me. It only ammounted to facing the right direction, and jumping at the right moment. And with how little the transformation is used, it's not enought to get to know the transformation that much...

I like it's behavior on 4/Shake It better as it's kinda unpredictable when it's going to end in 2 & 3, Let alone keeping him to stay in that spot with flammable blocks.

...I do enjoy the music from the earlier games for it though. =P
