Well that and Wario seems like an obvious choice for the third movie. There's never just one or two unexpected characters per film, and with Daisy as one of the newcomers, logically Wario could be another one.

Honestly the only thing that'd make me feel pessimistic would be if the post credits scene was Mario getting a letter as a Smash teaser or something, but luckily that didn't happen. I'm not against the idea, but I just think it'd suck if it was no longer about the Mario series before Wario even gets a chance to shine

Daisy, Wario, and Waluigi all follow a rival theme to Peach, Mario, and Luigi. Daisy also doesn't really have a lot of backstory outside of Sarasaland and instead leans heavily on personality just like Waluigi. And with Wario being less relevant and primarily being Warioware nowadays, I feel like Waluigi is starting to get slightly closer to having the same level of popularity and recognizability as Wario.

So with that in mind, and the fact that Wario and Waluigi thrive as a duo, I feel like between the 3 of them, they'd all have the same level of popularity, priority, impact on the story, etc. so I can totally see Wario and Waluigi making it in. And also because there's not a lot of other candidates for the main cast that are well known by the general public

I think it is a fair thinking what you have in regards how they would be trying to move forward with the franchise in regarding the movie "universe". Haven't seen the second movie but, something that perhaps they would do on the third movie would be to introduce Wario, Waluigi and Daisy which would lead to open the door to stories from the RPG's (Mario and Luigi), making possible for them to further branch (like E-Gadd appearing from the Mario and Luigi series from time to time, him appearing can get Luigi travelign and having his own venture like his series just as Mario could go to his separate ways and bring other "solo" adventures like based from Mario Land after the appeareance of Daisy).

absolutely

who else is there?

other than captain falcon or some shit

Huh I guess Peach and Daisy don't really got beef with each other in the same way Wario and Waluigi are rivals to Mario and Luigi, that's more like the scrapped Wapeach and Wadaisy. Yet with Daisy being so hyperactive (and possibly meeting Peach for the first time?) I could see them trying to make them rivals at least at first anyway, the 2nd film
did a retcon where Rosalina and Peach are sisters
so I wouldn't put it past them

But yeah like we've all said who else is there, there's a lot of characters but not a lot who are well known by the general public who aren't already part of the main cast

thats a take i see a lot of people have but i really dont see it as likely at all

also the end of the first movie teased yoshi (a good guy) and hid bowser jr (a bad guy) for later, they teased daisy (a good guy) and are hiding wario (a bad guy) for later

Ooooooo stop stop now you're getting me excited lol

From a marketing perspective I thought maybe they selected Daisy for the post credits over Wario as a safer option in case they were worried about Wario's reception if he was closer to his Wario Land identity rather than WarioWare. It's been like 18 years since the last Wario Land after all so I thought they'd treat him like an unpredictable wildcard. But considering who gets revealed and when is incredibly important to the marketing, now I realize it totally makes sense to save him for later and cause conflict. He's not their wildcard he's their ace in the hole

nah im pretty confident they reveal the ally in the post credits first, doesnt necessarily mean wario is the villain but considering daisy and waluigi had the same debut in both mario kart and mario party... i think its a solid case
