Is Wario the Japanese translation of a stereotypical American?

What do you mean by that? I've not really played F-Zero, so I don't know much about his personality...

He's an overweight/muscled Samurai who wears the Japanese flag on his helmet, and wields a Katana. Samurai Goroh's main rival is Captain Falcon who wears blue and is implied to be American. Despite Goroh's best attempts, Falcon always comes out on top.

Come to think of it, Goroh is kinda F-Zero's version of Wario!

I always saw Wario as an exaggerated version of Mario.

Mario is chubby. Wario is fat.
Mario is kind of greedy. Wario is VERY greedy.
Mario can be a jerk sometimes. Wario is a jerk all of the time.

Silly and unsupported idea invented from Smash Bros fans when Brawl played up Wario gross side while downplaying his strength.

Also I'm surprised no one has called Samraui Goroh, the Japanese portrayal of the American portrayal of a stereotypical Japanese.

You have a point. If Capt. Falcon could be considered American then I could fully understand. Samurai Goroh is more of a Japanese rebel.
