Least favorite 3D mainline Mairio game ?

Kinda curious to see your opinion on them.

Personally, I think I dislike Sunshine the most. It's not bad per say but it can be pretty janky at times which hinders the experience quite a bit. Honeslty, it feels like if Sega owned Mario during the 2000s, it quite literally has the jank of average Sonic game at the time, lol.

I don't really like Odyssey either, I find it to be way too easy and pretty boring. Not a huge fan of how easy it is to make jumps unlike in Mario 64 where every jump was a risk. It's still good, I like all 3D Mario games but I wouldn't really replay it.

Also I didn't include 3D Land or World since they don't feel as "grand" as those games.

Probably Sunshine, just because it's got a lot of poorly designed or thought out missions. Not enough to ruin the game, but enough to make 100% completion a chore.

Sunshine is a great game but an absolute bitch to 100%. It's really not worth it.

 

[The 3rd Wario Brother]

Its Split between Sunshine and Galaxy 2

Nothing against Galaxy 2 but there those kinds of games. DK and DKjr. Doom and Doom 2. Many others but you get the point, when the sequel is just full length dlc. I don't play games like that on their own so due to my own mindset I can't get into Galaxy 2 on its own without it feeling weird.

Sunshine is the one with objective reason for it to be one I'd less go back to. Like said in posts above some missions are real annoying, and 100% is asking for a whole lot for nothing. Now that tbh doesn't sound far off from Mario 64 but what that game has that Sunshine doesn't is playthrough flexibility. Instead of a specific amount of sprites to meet Bowser you have to do all but the last in each area for main missions. So without an incentive to explore things in the over world or look for alternative outs when you struggle with annoying missions. Well I can say this is the awkward middle child between free flowing Mario 64 and nearly like 3D Land Galaxy
