I feel like Id like him more if they hadnt pushed him so much, and like if he was actually beatable and not treated like the greatest wrestler to ever exist : p
(and honestly yeah the thing with Sting really irked me a ton. HHH has had Wrestlemania spotlight, that was like Stings big moment before he retired and they gave it to HHH just to once again show their superiority over anyone from WCW)
But actually other than that I did like HHH : p Well from like the early 2000's anyway, I actually dont care for DX like at all : p
Oh and I thought Evolution was cool : p I dunno how others feel about it but its actually probly my favorite WWE uhhhh group of bad guys (cant remember what thats called all of a sudden : p)
I actually liked both of them : p But I would pick Goldberg too. I mean yeah I was a wcw fan growing up, but at the time Goldberg was like new and exciting, and he felt like a big deal. Like he was a machine that everyone was excited about.
Lesnar was awesome, had a really cool finisher and theme and persona and all, but I mean he really felt more like a really big bully : p Kinda like Scott Steiner but actually cool and interesting : p
I remember seeing Pasta Mania on the first Nitro, haha it looked like it was pretty darn bland : p
Guess they thought theyd ride the gravy train on Hogans face alone : p
Kinda hope they lasted long enough for Hogan to go heel, though. Would like to have seen how nWo Hollywood Hogan affected their business : p
Btw, I never cared for regular old Hulk Hogan, but I thought Hollywood was great : p Did anyone else feel that way? Think he was far more interesting as a heel.
I don't think Hogan's Hulkamania gimmick was ever anything to really write home about but an appeal to patriotism can be effective especially back in the days of kayfabe and he had the charisma to pull it off. There's also backstage politics. While obviously before my time it's easy now to see that his gimmick is outdated and cheesy but even now it still has a bit of a campy appeal. His Hollywood gimmick is definitely more interesting but I think with time even that could get stale.
