That totally sounds like something he'd come up with.

Nope, just like last year with All In. I wish they held their Chicago events some place bigger like the United Center or maybe even Soldier Field. It looks like they'll keep doing them in the dinky little Sears Centre Arena which means I'll probably never get to go to an event if they keep selling out like this.@Magma Were you able to get a ticket to all out before it sold out?
I'm unsure how to feel about this so far. The past few AEW shows haven't had much in the way of stories outside of just guys who are good at wrestling. I feel like Jericho can be a good person to use to build up a new guy who can beat him since, while loaded as their roster is, I don't feel like there's anyone that can really excite the audiences just yet. I'm pretty certain Jericho is just a familiar face to build up a new guy to get the crowd excited for once Jericho is defeated and won't be the face of the company.Chris Jericho is the first ever AEW champion.
Im kinda disappointed by it.
I guess it can be good if they give the belt a heel run, leading to a good guy winning it at some point. Wcw used to build up their bad guys and make it a big event when the good guy finally won, I always liked that formula.
Hopefully they dont want to make Chris the face of the company, though. Would be much more better to build a newer wrestler up as one of their own.
