I thought about commissioning an Arle drawing, but for some reason, I never asked for one before leaving. Ah well.
But hey, I think I still got plenty, all things considered.

If nothing else Dark Arle in 7 is pretty blatantly based of Doppel, in some of her mannerisms and the general ''evil Arle'' concept.puyokid said:Really? Huh, you'd think 20th Anniversary would make a claim (in-game) that Doppel is being referenced through the Alt. voice there.

Also :
What looks to be the cover for a new Light Novel has seemingly been leaked and hey, Ally is there, so that's nice at least.
I get more Doppel out of it, then Darkle, but that's mainly in terms of the general tone of the voice.puyokid said:Yeah, you have a point there. Out of curiosity, I don't suppose you believe that Arle's Alt. voice is based off of Dark Arle rather than Doppelganger Arle?
1. Not that I'm aware of.puyokid said:1. I don't suppose anyone's even translated the title to this story yet?
2. Isn't this the FIRST (Puyo) Light Novel that Risukuma has appeared in?
3. Don't suppose you know WHEN this is coming out, do you?
4. What, uh...what's up with the...dragons(?) at the top-left corner?

1. Not that I'm aware of.
2. Yep, it's the first time he's showing up in these.
3. I have seen June 15th flying around, but that might just be a tentative placeholder date.
4. Beats me.
Either way while I'm not really a fan of the Light Novels I did wonder when the next one was going to come, since there has been one per year for the past four years, so there it is, the cover art is already telling me what direction it might go into and that I shouldn't expect anything to come out of it for me.
Considering how the previous novels went I wouldn't count on it, but you never know, I'm more fixated on the fact that they are seemingly acknowledging that Ally is from another world, which makes the PP7 characters just hanging around in Primp, with no explanation even sillier.
On another note, remember my Sig/Doppel fic? Well, someone has asked me if it were okay if they could write a follow-up to it, I said okay and behold, the first chapter is here :
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12511557/1/From-Clone-to-Clown
It's coming along very nicely, if you ask me.
It did, due to some of Ecolo's usual space time mumbo jumbo they get send back to their world (though we never do see them return, ourselves.), the very last cutscene even has Amitie wonder when she would be seeing Ringo again.puyokid said:As a matter of fact, I don't even think that 20th's ending even RESOLVED that issue...
Oh there will be, gotta say I do feel very flattered that someone would like the premise of my fic enough to write their own continuation, to me that's a pretty big compliment.puyokid said:Wow, this is really good! I hope to see more of this! So, Doppel really IS going to attend Primp Magic Academy, huh? I wonder how THAT will go...

Also, here's an interesting thought process, in regards to Sig's just kind of dropping into the class in Fever 2 :

It really is an interesting thought, just what was going on in Sig's head at that point, carefree attitude or not, that's going to leave some markplus it makes 15th even bigger Arlsig fuel then it already was
I am liking that light novel cover a lot more than I probably should.
Now, I'm not expecting the book to be fantastic or anything; a nice little expanded universe thing, yes, but nothing truly special. But I do admit, I like looking at the art. Worth a look for at least that much.
Pretty much, then again Ecolo is pretty much the go to character whenever the games need an easy fix or conflict as is, it's pretty much a formula by now.puyokid said:So to make a long story (somewhat) short, Ecolo's powers basically helped to pull a "Deus Ex Machina" to bring Ringo, Risukuma, and Maguro (and himself, in a way) back home to their dimension. Just like recent Puyo games have been doing whenever dimension-hopping is involved.
Funny thing is, it fueled Amisig for me. Mostly because of this:

I said it before that shipping isn't the main attraction for me when it comes to Puyo, but with the inclusion of Ally and the themes she brings along it would be nice if I could actually look forward to something in that regard, but it has been pretty much been established that within' the Light Novel continuity Arle simply doesn't give a rat's ass about Sig and their only interaction in these things so far was the only negative one they have had in anything period, so yah know, at this point I almost want them to never even appear in the same scene in these things, because my god. I can live with the Amitie/Sig relationship getting much more focus, but jeez, be a little less cruel, will yah?
Also, so my post isn't just a bunch of whining take this:
Just found this again when looking through my art collection, still one of the best pieces of Schezo fan art out there, if you ask me.
Would be refreshing if they did.puyokid said:............But let's be really real, would SEGA actually DO a thing like THAT?
I did mean Arle and Sig, in the second Light Novel during that chapter were Sig is huge and granted everyone who was affected by the dream mist was more inconsiderate and selfish (even Maguro towards Ringo), it's still disappointing when that's all the interaction they have gotten so far in 4 volumes and even when he apologizes, he does it to Amitie, whom he didn't do anything towards. And then there is Sig's Secret, where Amitie is the only one of the A girls that even gives a shit that something is clearly going on with Sig and that he needs help. Klug and Raffine actually show concern and even care for him, but if it was up to Arle and Ringo, without Amitie leading the pack, Sig would have been taken over by his demon powers and essentially died, because they clearly didn't care enough to help him and judging from the way it was written, only did it to make Amitie happy.
And when I say ''be less cruel'' I'm just expressing my desire to see less of that kind of stuff, I'm essentially calling out to the novels themselves, just a manner of speech.
And those are quite good, here are a couple more from me :
If this was an actual game I would have totally gotten a Vita.
A great Christmas pic with my two favorite characters? Yes plz,
Jan continues to be the most adorable thing ever.
PC98 MM2 Schezo in the current artstyle, I demand an alt like that!
A boy and his bee~
Words cannot describe how well this fits.
The book is now on the official site:

Looks like June 15th was the correct date after all.
What bothers me most is that it's not cosistent with the games in any way, the games and even the live show don't try to act like Arle and Sig aren't friends, in fact, Chronicle, the most recent game in the series shows that Arle is perfectly happy to derail her adventure and by proxy find a way home, to try and cheer Sig up when he's feeling down, in contrast to her utter lack of interest in his condition in Sig's Secret (granted we never get her perspective or thoughts on what's going on, but that doesn't make her look any less uncaring.) and as I mentioned, basically letting him slip into his own demise, which is OOC for Arle in general.puyokid said:In the games and the L.Ns, we know that Arle and Ringo don't HATE Sig. Not in the slightest. But it still felt weird that they didn't help Amitie out for that one, especially considering how the consequences obviously would have also been MUCH more dire for Sig (and possibly EVERYONE else).
It is, Cool Schezo is just the basic white robes from SUN/TSU/MInna and the many spin offs from that time and MSX2 Schezo looked like this.puyokid said:BTW, is that really PC98 Schezo? I thought this was MSX Schezo, and that "Cool Schezo" in Quest was his PC98 incarnation.
Pretty basic premise, but that's something I expected, as I said I don't see there being anything in it for me, but I can at least hope that they won't do anything horrendus.puyokid said:Oh, really? Awesome! Not only that, but from what Google Translate could make of the title, it appears to be along the lines of "Amitie and the Girl of Love".
As for the summary, the best I can make out of it is that Ally was teleported from her dimension (somehow) to Primp Town, and she lost quite a bit of her memory in the process (similar to Amitie in PP7). As a result, all she CAN remember is that she needs the power of (what else?) love to bring her back home. Obviously Arle, Amitie, Ringo, and Carbuncle agree to help her, but...how exactly are they going to utilize LOVE to bring her home?
No probs!puyokid said:Unrelated side note: I decided to hang around the website whose link you posted, and imagine my pleasant surprise to find that Nintendo apparently makes Light Novels based on my favorite video game series, Kirby! It would seem that the distributor of the Puyo L.Ns does the same for the Kirby L.Ns as well! So, thanks for posting that link!

They don't need to be BFFs or anything, but they are friends and friends look out for each other, something we have seen from both ends in the games and it would be nice if the Light Novels reflected that, instead of what they have been doing so far.

I wouldn't say that too much, but you can tell a difference in writing when comparing the novels to the games and there are some things I actually do like, like novel Schezo in general, I just don't approve of seeing relationships put under a rug like that, because to me that's direct defilement of canon.puyokid said:Honestly, it just feels like a majority of the series' cast are jerks to each other (moreso than usual) in the Light Novels than the games, if I'm being honest here.
puyokid said:1. In Quest, was Draco given an alt. based on her appearance during the events of Puyo Puyo~n? I'm not too sure if 'Vigorous Draco' is supposed to be her from Yo~n.
2. Draco's "species/race" is featured in Puyo Puyo Quest, right? Because I've been seeing a bit of fanart of characters on Pixiv that are featured alongside her in her 'Teahouse alt. and Vigorous alt., and I doubt they're fan-made. This also includes one that seems to be in a relationship with her.
