Re WL4 voice samples - List of potential Zero-G sound packs

Look, I know you seem to like to disagree, but I can't find that JzVoice thing anywhere. If you downloaded extra stuff, at least explain where you found those so we can reproduce it too.

Can you answer my question, please?

Instrument: Chorus Oohs

HOW?! It sounds nothing like the game! If anything it sounds like Super Mario Sunshine's Acapella of the SMB theme!

I don't like to disagree, and I have not downloaded any extra stuff! NoNoNo: I disagreed with you because I thought some of the SC-8820 instruments you posted didn't sound like the original. I don't think there should be an option to like or a dislike posts on a forum, but it exists, so I don't see why I can't use it.

As for the JzVoice Dow instrument, it's in the Ensemble category in the SC-8820 Map.

I think you've misunderstood me. Here is a comparison of the Chorus Oohs and the sample from the original game. The reason why they sound different is because the sample was compressed and lost quality when the developers put it in the cartridge of the game. And they only sampled one note of it to save space, even if the Sound Canvas uses multiple sounds in one instrument, so that's another reason why it sounds different.

Sure, the rating is there to be used, doesn't matter if it should be there or not, my point is that at least explain why you disagree, the more detail the better, so I can fix it in the future.
And no, I don't agree either with some of your choices of instruments, some are not even close to the original sound, while others are exactly the same. This is a team effort, and what may sound right to you, may be wrong, that's how it goes. Now I'm not claiming that said instruments I chose are correct, I'm showing what I found that sounds closer.

Anyway, I finally found JzVoice Dow, you could have explained that in the first place. Here's the updated version of Crescent Moon Village: WL4 Crescent Moon Village.mp3

Thank you, now that's the type of information that we need. Keep in mind there are way too many sounds to compare, so it's hard to test them all.

The developers made some of the MIDI files from Wario Land 4 General MIDI-compatible, so that's the reason why I found the Chorus Oohs sample so easily.

FYI, the reason why I disagreed with you is because I don't think the bass drum, cymbal, guitar and synth bass samples sound like they were sampled from the SC-8820. The other instruments sounded great!

Which song? What would you have used instead?

I'm talking about Crescent Moon Village. I wouldn't have used anything instead, because I would have cut the parts that didn't use the Sound Canvas. Here is my version of the song, and I'll add the synth bass, guitar, cymbal and bass drum parts to it with Audacity if I ever find the source of them.

Medamayaki from Wario Land 4 with new SC-8820 instruments and the old vocals:

I didn't include the bird tweets because it was very hard to get their pitch right. The bird tweet samples were part of a drum kit in the in-game soundfont, but the original SC-55 sample was treated as a separate instrument, so that's the reason why it was so hard.

I still wonder where the "Hello there!" sample comes from...

Oh my god... The Daohs... THEY'RE TOO CLEAR!!!

OMG, so much amazing information flying at me.

@G-Boy, nice to see you here. Could you or someone else please share the sound clips of all those samples that you cited? I'd like to include them in a reference table that I was constructing.

Thanks! I love how you've compared the original sample audio with the compressed in-game version.

I've got a busy week ahead, but I'll try to make time to document the new findings (with your credit of course G-Boy).
