I know this is going to sound really bizarre, but one of the things that has me most excited about Smash Ultimate is the possibility of new Switch profile icons, especially if we have one of each playable character. I think it's completely ridiculous that the switch has been out for almost two years now and we still don't have a Wario icon for it, and none of the existing Switch profile icons really tickle my fancy.
Definetly i would go for the Kaptain K Rool one

Someone in the comments told me that he fights strong characters like himself, and another said they reminded them of Wario Land Bosses
Feels more like the first one. I guess King K. Rool can be Rudy, Charizard is a Demon Head from VBWL(?) and Incineroar is the Shake King, but I can't really come up with many things, it can referense. Maybe all 6 Shake it bosses?
One of the load time trivia bits is about Wario Land 1, it's a small thing, but I appreciate it very much.
I just did the Captain Syrup spirit battle and noticed something interesting.
It took place on the Pirate Ship stage and Syrup was bound to Bayonetta. Thing is, the two were accompanied by a giant grey King Dedede, who was very likely meant to be a shout out to Bobo in his Land 1 appearence.

One of his tips mentions on how his dash attack is based the shoulder tackle from the Wario Land series. More Wario Land acknowledgement!
Since I didn't see any mention of it, Shokora's battle is against her alongside an NPC Wario and Mr. Game and Watch!

-Galleom boss from Brawl
-Giga Mac/The lowpoly karate whose game was reviewed AVGN (Same stats)
-Pidgit from SMB2
-King Hippo
-Piston Hondo
-Mario stone powerup
I haven't found any of the spirits from his platforming games though.
Other thing worth mentioning, Waluigi's spirit is OP in Bayonetta.

But who's Shokora? Or is it just those two?
Does anyone have these icons as individual images? Would probably work nicely as avatar choices on forums and what not, maybe part of a default gallery.
Probably Mr Game & Watch, given Shokora's mini game shop owner form looks exactly like him.
Peach is Shokora, while Mr. Game & Watch being there serves as a reference to her Shopkeeper form and Wario of course because Land 4 was his game and Shokora his ally.

A small relation but in order to summon Dr. Eggman you must use a Dr. Crygor core. This obviously is a reference to how Crygor looks like Eggman but on the other hand it might also be a reference to Dr. Eggman's history with Wario and Waluigi in the Mario and Sonic series since you cannot use any Wario or Waluigi spirits to summon another character (Wario is a fighter spirit and to my knowledge, most major assistant spirits like Waluigi are not used to summon other spirits due to how valuable they are.)
