What is your favourite animal?

I have a confession to make........ Im..... not real super big on monkeys.

In fact, when I go to the zoo, I often skip over the monkeys.
 
He certainly looks happy, though.

Id give him a banana. Makes me wonder if its possible to train them to show their teeth to get a banana....

Oh, yeah, you can. They're pretty smart animals. When you see a chimp smiling in a movie or something, for example, that's not because it's pissed at the actors. It's just been trained to do that, likely in order to receive a reward after they finish filming the scene.

Seems kinda dangerous when you think about it, though. Imagine all the people who have been lost out in the wild, thinking that smiling monkeys were their friends. Haha Im sure its never been a problem, but people could totally be misinformed by such a thing : p
 
In the case of monkeys, I wouldn't doubt if someone unaware of this smiled at one and angered it. Monkeys do live in human-populated areas in various places, and they have a bit of a reputation for stealing things from people that interest them, especially food or anything they think could be a source of food, so average humans do interact with monkeys regularly in some places. I'm sure most locals know how to behave around monkeys, but tourists probably don't. Fortunately, most great apes would be more isolated from human civilization, which is good because despite being basically half the size, chimpanzees are also about twice as strong as humans, and can be pretty aggressive even amongst one another (although much like humans, it varies on an individual basis).

I dated a girl that was deathly afraid of monkeys. All primates, really. I mean,except for humans. It was rather odd. You don't realize how many monkey references there are in society until you try to avoid them. Good god!
She was really hot though
