What other fandoms do Wario fans tend to belong to?

CM30

Diamond City Mayor
Diamond City Leader
Because from what I've seen, there's a pretty big overlap between the Wario Land fanbase and the Shantae fanbase, as well as the Wario Land one and the Donkey Kong Country one.

And a lot of WarioWare fans are also obviously Rhythm Heaven fans, since the series are very similar in both gameplay and art style.

So what other examples are there? What other fandoms seem to overlap significantly with the Wario one?

I am only active in the Wario fandom.

On a different note, I don't think any generalizations can really be made aside from broad ones like "diverse" and "not mainstream/casual".

I'm also a fan of Metroid. Like Wario Land, Metroid makes you explore the levels for goodies and powerups. I can also say I love the DKC series and the Shantae series, like CM30 pointed out, for the same reasons.

I love WarioWare, Rhythm heaven and puzzle league, too.
Coincidence? Well I agree with CM30, there is an obvious overlap, if you like Wario games because of the gameplay style.

I mean I'm not accusing anyone of anything I'm just saying if it's odd with the connections between the two series people keep making.

I have played the first 2 and have played a bit of Pirate's Curse and have Half Genie Hero on my home computer. I really tried to like it but just didn't do anything for me.

Any other series you like that are similar to Wario in anyway? (Not just Wario Land, but WarioWare)
That's what we're trying to figure out in this topic.

I also like the Metroid series I guess. I'm not really the type who tries to find series that are similar in any way to what I already like.

Ahem, excuse me for running my mouth a bit I go a little berserk whenever I'm lumped into a category in regards to gaming.

Ok, good, there we go!
Although, you're still missing the point. It's not about being a fan of a game because it's similar to Wario games, it's about being a fan of a game that coincidently ends up being similar to them. I am a fan of Metroid and Wario Land, but I just recently noticed how similar they were, which is quite interesting.

I'm a Zelda fan above everything else, but I'm not really in the "fandom". I don't go to Zelda forums anymore because the fanbase is really fragmented. The Zelda franchise has been around for 30 years-- everyone grew up with different Zelda games, and everyone has their own personal experiences with the games, and their own opinion on what direction the franchise should take. As a result it's hard to empathize with other Zelda fans, so I just avoid the fandom :p

To be more serious, Im kinda like Magma on this one. Like yeah, I like certain games and due to that Ill probly like games that are similar to it, but at the same time me liking something like Harvest Moon doesnt mean that I only like cutesy farming games : p Like I loved the Turok series, and I dont even like FPS games. I just for whatever reason really enjoyed Turok.

I just tend to like whatever I like, and I think Im pretty diverse when it comes to games. Me enjoying Wario Land doesnt really mean Im gonna like every single game like it, and like I have an interest in Warioware, but really just cuz I think the characters and junk are way cute, so theres a good chance I wouldnt even enjoy rhythm heaven : p

(Except for the pro wrestler interview, haha)

I'm obviously a Wario fan, and while I don't own that much games the series that I like (besides Wario Land and Ware) are:
  • Donkey Kong Country/Land
  • Shantae
  • Mario Bros.
  • Kirby
And some others like the first and second Mario vs. Donkey Kong games.
I can't exactly say for others but I have a feeling that many fans of these games are also Wario fans. (Or that many Wario fans also like these games.)
