What's a creative idea of yours?

I've been asking a few people around my neck of the woods this question, and they tend to get confused, so I'll elaborate. What's your favorite idea? That is, what's a creative concept of yours (or maybe one you heard elsewhere) that struck your fancy? I'm not talking inventions or conveniences, I'm referring to story ideas -- unique characters, cool settings, plot ideas, general themes, wacky objects, what have you.

Perhaps an example would help -- I thought up of an idea for a group of desert nomads called the "Sun Men" They all wear embroidered robes alongside golden Aztec sun masks, which are used to hide their identities and unnerve their enemies. The Sun Men are a sort of cult, but they don't worship a god; they all place high value on individuality, the study of self, self-improvement, and the ego. They're a literal cult of personality -- they're all into the whole "what am I in the relation to the universe" thing. They celebrate their strong individuality by dressing up identically and preying on the weak and innocent, of course (kind of like another robed secret society). Who knows? Your local bartender or politician could secretly be a dangerous egomaniac! The suspense! The drama! Who knows?

So, I thought that might be cool in a game/movie/book.

To reiterate -- what's a creative idea of yours (character/setting/thing/plot/etc)? I'm curious -- describe it if you can.

Some inspiration from LoZ Wind Waker


The year 2127 WW3 happened andlots of places where nuked and for every subsequent year people would be effected by radiation but not all. Overtime the landscape changed, there was much water and less land and those who inherited the radiation from ancestors would evolve over time. Soon there where water people and what we see as normal people alike. This would spark racism between the two types of people, Of course many where accepting of eachother but most generally saw eachother as weird and the Land people and Water People (not quite mermaids but the body is suited to marine lifestyle) would have to learn too make peace. After many different wars this would be achieved.

Probably not totally creative, i came up with this as a teen when Wind Waker was released and saw the Ritos. I remember making this into a full fledged story but i can't find it. Likely lost in time.

I have several original game ideas. One in particular I had been perfecting since I was 8 years old.

Donuts with sugar filling. No, no, I'm not looking to eat this myself, but if I trick my enemies into eating this, they'll pass out from the sugar rush! I am devious!

I concept for a funny story setting that came into my mind a few years ago is that of an ¨eternal waterslide¨.

Basically it is a waterslide like you can find in a swimming resort but much, much larger. It is many miles long and branches into many separate tubes that take you to a different part of the slide. And the layout constantly changes so you have absolutely no idea where you'll go to. In fact, it's so large that you need a map to navigate it or else you will definitely get lost.

Unfortunately, I have not yet created a story around this concept.

So imagine the government builds a machine that makes what you dream come to reality and a government official smokes some mexican dream herb to have lucid dreams and creates whatever he wants and takes over the world.

Im a big fan of like fantasy junk and like magic based on fictional elements (like earth wind fire and water and junk), and when I was younger I accidentally created Avatar: The Last Airbender. I was pretty excited until I realized that what I came up with was already a thing, haha.

"All a man really needs is an idea"... These words (said by Simpsons character, Herb Powell), always resonated with me. The idea is sacred. It comes from your own mind.

Anyone who ever had a clever or creative idea should keep it to themselves (just in case you wish to use it someday). Idea theft is happening all the time in the design industry. The sheer amount of abuse and theft that designers suffer these days... forget about it! Don't go blabbing your ideas around like a sucker - I used to do it here myself. You never know when you might have a life-changing winner on your hands, like our friend Herb did.

Well, even if you trust the members here with your ideas, you never know who is visiting the site and rifling through the threads (not to mention all those mysterious members who sign up and never say or do anything). All it takes is for one stranger/visitor to read your million-dollar idea, and you've had it.
