Seriously though, while I haven't, I thought it'd be interesting to think about given the somewhat disturbing lengths some fans go to in these matters. For example, Encyclopedia Dramatica mentioned someone who had literally become obsessive over Waluigi:

And I've heard stories of a few people who were insanely attracted to Wario himself for some reason. Or one of the female WarioWare characters.

So yeah, as much as this could easily go downhill fast, have you?

I don't think that stops most fans, of pretty much any fiction at all. Nor does anything else. You can be a mass murdering fictional psychopath and have a legion of fans in love with you. And for that matter, Ashley's age seems to vary based on region. So in English speaking countries it's... 15 I think. Which makes it a tiny amount less creepy than it would if someone was in love with the Japanese version of the character.

Ah well. At least we don't have this sort of thing for Wario characters:
