Wario's Sleeves

I noticed that Wario's sleeve length seems to fluctuate from game to game. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is?

That was really just during the N64 and GameCube eras, when Land 2 came out in 1998 it introduced the short sleeves for Wario, something that stayed consistend in the Wario series, for whatever reason it just took forever for other games to make that the default and is some cases it was rather inconsistent, he had short sleeves in Mario Tennis 64, but went back to long ones for Power Tennis for instance.

However eventually they caught on, particulary noticable with Mario Kart Wii, which reused Double Dash models, but went out of it's way to make Wario's sleeves short, instead of keeping them long like in DD.

No idea what made them decide to finally stick to short sleeves, but it has been consistent since then and must must have been a conscious decision.

It's because the short sleeves show his muscular upper arms better.

I wonder if Mario in SM Sunshine feels wimpy towards Wario's big manly arms

I agree with @Just a Wario fan on this one. The whole long sleeve thing was just to look like Mario but the short sleeves are his calling. Oh and @warelander VBWL before WL2 also had short sleeves.

Unless there is some sprite that has him with short sleeves I don't see it.

I take there is a chance that the boxart isn't lying but to me i see his arms and face as the same tone of red so i see short sleeves, and you see long sleeves. We'll leave at that cause we see it differently it'll go on forever.

Wait, really? I never knew that was questionable, Wario has obvious long sleeves in VBWL!
Then again, it would be hard to see if you're colorblind. The arms are quite yellow (orangy yellow, whatever) which is not that close to his skin color.
Edit: ok, we are talking about the sprite, but then that means it's either long sleeve or no shirt, and I thing the latter is not happening.
