Video Game Rap Battles - Wario Vs Shadow (Thoughts?)

Scyhh

Give me your credit card information.
So a few days ago a channel called Video Game Rap Battles uploaded a rap battle between Wario and Shadow. This is one is another installment in their Mario vs Sonic series (Previous ones being Mario Vs Sonic, Luigi Vs Tails and Bowser Vs Eggman). I think the winner is obvious. Here's a link to the video:

Of course I am biased towards Wario here, but even if I wasn't, Wario would still be the winner here.
Shadow never stood a chance against Wario. :WLWarioLaughs:

Really love those references, especially that Smooth Moves one.

They have nothing in common, Shadow is some sort of a Sonic clone whose only game is in par with Sonic '06 and he mourns the death of a child(?) his purpose was to kill Sonic until he saw he was being puppetered by Eggman, then his character trait got killed and his purpose is just being a... what now?

While Wario is just a guy who happens to resemblance Mario, despises that fact and he will humiliate him every chance he gets, his great weakness is his own ambition: Money. He unintentionally made more enemies in his platformers despite being a Mario multiplied by 10, he gets knocked out instead of killed, WarioWare games have a lot self aware gags (one of them emulating NES games).

Wario as a parallel to shadow is something I never really thought about before. Both are essentially "evil versions" of the protagonist, but while shadow is a "cool", angsty brooding villain, Wario is a wacky idiot defined by his greed and strange quirks.

COme to think of it, it does make sense. Sonic is defined by his flippant, devil-may-care attitude and freindly demeaonor, so shadow is self-serious and sad. Meanwhile, mario is somewhat basic and generic, bareley even a "character" in his own right. What little characteristics he does have are essenitially common to most "hero" characters. Thus, his counterpart is brimming with personality, and is primarily motivated by self-intrest.

That's true.
But please tell me, how the heck can you make such clever observations here, but only put something as simple as "e" in the Rant Section?

I'm gonna be honest, I've always been on the side of that these "video game rap battle" things were almost always going to suck.
Holy shit, I've never been happier to be wrong. This was a genuinely really fun and enjoyable experience.
I'm honestly most impressed about how they managed to keep the pitch and tone good while doing the Wario and Shadow voices. It's insane. Like they managed not only to rap while doing that, but also while making it sound good!? Great stuff to those who made this.
Not only that, but they also made the lyrics interesting, both with a simple-yet-distinct flow to them. Wario with heavier, more pounding instrumentals and vocals, and Shadow, with faster-paced bars and less thumping instrumentals.

But I'm gonna be honest, even without the Wario bias, Wario won. I'm just a sucker for pounding percussion!!
