Thinking about changing my name. Anyone got any clever ideas? Looking for something WL3 related :sleepinwario:

Then when you'll have a Pizza Tower pfp, it seems only appropriate to name yourself Refrigerator Refrigerador Freezerator, don't ya think?

I'd definitely be tempted. That was my second favourite Pizza Tower stage

Does anyone else look at Wario World as the true final send off to the Wario Land series? It came out the same year as the first WarioWare and the vibe felt much more faithful than Shake It.

I agree with CM30 on this one. Though I admit Wario World was closer to the original Wario Lands in terms of how crude it was artistically, even though it was much more exaggerated.

Each subsequent Wario platformer (1994-2004) kept pushing the envelope with the weirdness and crudeness. In a way, Wario World is the grand finale and peak of how weird a Wario game's atmosphere could get.

That's actually a way better way to look at it. I guess instead you can look at Wario World as the last Wario game that was faithful. It was rude, raunchy and weird, where Shake It was much more fluffy.

Though Master of Disguise also had attitude and weird bosses, but it isn't known for being as well liked as the Wario Land games or Wario World.

What dev team would you all say is best suited to tackle a new Wario Land game? For me, I still stand by MercurySteam.

I could see that, though I do worry their games seem to be on the difficult side overall. Can they make an easy platformer?

Cause Wario Land games are never really about good reaction times, precise combat or Metroid Dread levels of difficulty...

    Maybe WayForward.

I don't see a harder Wario Land being a bad thing. Like WL4, Dread had a difficulty setting, so maybe they could bring that back. It'd bring a lot of replay value for the die-hard fans.

And for the people that want a more forgiving playthrough, they could just choose the easier difficulty.

    Happy 11th anniversary, Undertale!

It is wild that I was like 13 when I got Undertale for the first time. Made a Steam account just for it and even stayed up all night playing it. Oh how the years go by...

I have such a weird relationship with Undertale. When I was a younger, I was so traumatozed by Omega Flowey that I was an Undertale hater for like 3 years straight. Now I think it's a neat game.

When we eventually get a new Wario adventure game, are you hoping for it to be 2D or 3D? I can go either way tbh.

2D, unless the 3D one doesn't follow the open world trend and go for colorful visuals, then I'd go with that

Agreed. It needs to stay crass and rude and like Wario World was

Yeah not a fan of open worlds either. I'd like something more contained like SM64. Maybe a 3D game with a formula to WL4 would work?

Kinda funny Catbat's original name actually translates to "Kabat"
Not sure which name I like more Hmm:

Catbat's an ugly bastard either way. It has a face not even a mother can love, which is saying something!!

Do you prefer Wario's shoes Green, or Purple?

You never know. In his last game, he spent a few weeks in a music box. I don't think his standards are very high :sleepinwario:

True. Being surrounded by treasure would probably make him sleep good as hell too!!

Yeah, treasure, genocide, getting crushed into a pancake, burned alive and eaten by zombies would do anyone in.
    Frigid Sea
We really need more JRPG/Mother inspired games that aren't depressing as hell.

I think that's one of the big things for people who aren't a big fan of RPG's. They're all long as hell. That's not bad if it's a fun game with interesting characters, a compelling story and you're making progress as you go through. But the length needs to be necessary.

One of my favourite childhood games, "Mario & Luigi Super Star Saga" for the GBA was a fairly long one, but the story and gameplay was fun and it just got crazier as you progressed.

Super Star Saga was a game changer for me, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Yeah Superstar Saga is an amazing game, it's by far my favorite Mario & Luigi game. Especially the 3DS remake but the original GBA game is also great (plus the original sprites are literally legendary for anyone who grew with Mario sprite animations or Mario 63).

Oh yeah, I remember that game. Flash games were the indie games of the 2000s. Good times.
