  • @Glowsquid, you've asked to me to share my thoughts about Mega Man 6 once I get to it and I just beat it so here I am.

I totally see how it could be your favorite to be honest, the level design is really good in this game, it has a satisfying balance of difficulty, especially in the castles stages. Actually, it's the only castle stages in the series I really like so far. The levels look amazing for the NES, which is not surprising since this their sixth game on the hardware but still. The music as just as good as the other games, which is great. Not my favorite soundtrack in the franchise (that would go to MM2 or 3) but still very good. The thing I like the most about the game is how they decided to handle Rush. Making it so fusions with Mega Man is a lot better then just using him as item. The level design does a lot of cool things with that, I love the alternate paths they provide.

There are only 2 things I dislike about the game. Something that is kinda minor is the Robot Master design, I'm not the biggest fan of them. I like Tomahawk Man and maybe one or two others but the rest is kinda weird to me compared to the other games. Especially, Centaur Man, I just think he looks weird, not a fan of chimeras in general. That's kinda picky of me, I know but the RMs are like on of the most iconic part of a Mega Man game for me... Guess they put all the cool designs in X1.

The second one is the slide glitch, it's really noticeable at first, especially right after playing MM5. You get used to it but it does hinder my experience a bit. I think there's a patch for it but I wanted to play the original version first. Next time, I'll just use the patch. I wonder how that slipped through game testing. Was this game rushed too? Does it have anything to do with X1 releasing the same year?

Anyways, I don't know if it's my favorite classic Mega Man game for now but it's the definitely one of the better ones. I think it's better than 5 and though it may be considered objectively than 2 or 3. I'd see myself replay them more. I like more than 4 and 1 though. I'll be glad to hear your thoughts (or anyone else having playing this game) about it. I'm not too familiar with the Mega Man community and the common consensus for this game (or any other except for maybe vaguely the first three).
Finally got an internship at a tech company! Basically, in France while the older students in high school pass their final exam, we have to look for an observation internship for the 2 last weeks of June and I only managed to get my internship accepted now.

I dreamed Nintendo announced Super Mario Galaxy 3 for the Switch 2.
... really made me relive that magical nostalgia I have for the original game and its sequel.
I finished Mega Man X1 like 2 days ago:

I like it but I don't love it (Edit: I replayed it and I do love it actually). It's a pretty good game and I like the upgrade mechanic but they kinda make the game unbalanced I think. Once you know, where the upgrades are what are the boss weaknesses, the Maverick stages become ridiculously easy. At least with the classic Mega Man games the platforming was still there to make you struggle even if you had all the weapons but here it's just not the case. I also don't really like the Sigma Fortress stages. That being said, the controls of this game are pretty fun and the visuals and music are really good. My favorite track is Sting Chameleon's stage. The level design for the Maverick stages are also very fun, regardless of if you got the upgrades or not. I'll definitely play it again.

I also tried out MMX2 and I gotta say I don't like it as much as X1 for now. I beat like 3 Mavericks in it and it feels too much like X1 to me. Even the pause menu and title screen look almost identical to X1. I still like it but it feels like more of a DLC and less of another game for now. The stage locales do look even better though, I'll give it that. Then again, I haven't beaten the game so maybe it gets a lot better afterwards, I don't know.
So I've been playing a lot of Mega Man recently. I got the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 since they were bundled for €10 on Steam. I've played through Mega Man2, 3 and I am now currently going through 4 and I gotta say I am enjoying the series a lot for now. I also played a bit of Mega Man X1 and 1 though I haven't finished. X1 I just stopped playing to play something but for 1 I am stuck on Ice Man's stage, this stage is genuinely awful. My favorite for now is probably Mega Man 3 but 4 may top it once I finish it, although I am not sure for now (especially since I haven't beat any stages in it for now).

I have always wanted to play those games! Mega Man seems cool to me for some reason...

No problem. I'll be glad to give my thoughts about MM6 when I get to it.

@GreenToxic If you wanna get into the classic Mega Man games, I recommend you start with MM2 like I did. It's definitely one of the easier games in the series (especially if played on Normal on a US copy) plus I'm pretty sure it's consider to be "defacto" Mega Man game.

Thank you for the recommendation, I should check it out!
Just switched from Ubuntu to Kubuntu. Hoping there wasn't anything important I haven't backed up on the partition.
Kinda crazy that almost 17 years after its release, none of Wario Land: Shake it!'s level assets has been ripped and put online (at least to my knowledge).
This will never be not insane to me, when I was a kid, I always considered that Daisy and Wario were part of the main group of characters but after thinking about it, you realize they only been in a single mainline game each and it was only their debut game until Wonder. Every other appearance were Sports/Party spin-offs at like two to three exceptions close.
So unlike I previously stated in another profile post, I will unfortunately not be able to release WarioWare: Computed's demo for March. That being said, I do plan on getting it finished by August so I can catch up to SAGE 2025.

Anyways, I'm still working on the project.
Finally installed Ubuntu on my machine. I wanted to do it a long time ago but I had a lot of very specific issues with my old computer.
What lie could have Wario said to have his pants on fire ?

Wario tried to be humble for once. This is why he's so honest about his godly physique and wealth.
Honestly, I'm really glad the Wario fanbase isn't as divided as the Sonic or Paper Mario fandom.

Usually when a game diverges and changes how its style completely, it leads to toxic exchange between old and newer fans. I expected that between Land and Ware fans but I found surprisingly few scenarios like that. Maybe it's because the Wario fandom is relatively small ? But eh... I prefer it that way if it means we stay chill.

Also I don't hang out on modern social media often so... Maybe I'm just oblivious.

The Wario fanbase is pretty chill in general, especially compared to other video game fanbases.

The fact the series changes things up with every other installment probably reduces the feeling of "why did they change this beloved formula?" too...
I've been playing Paper Mario Sticker Star recently since it's been like 3 years I haven't played it (and my last playthorugh was really unmemorable, don't remember a thing, just thought it was alright). Honestly, I am genuinely suprised by how much fun I'm having. I didn't have as much fun playing a video game in a looooong time and I didn't expect to happen with arguably the most hated Mario game.

This game has a lot more going for it then people gave it credit for.
