A General Art Section?

I noticed in the various sections we have, we have a wario fanworks section, but not a section for general art. (I was a bit confused, because the Wario Fanworks section was in the General Chat area, where it was non-wario specific stuff.)

Is there a reason why there isn't a General Art section, or has there just been no interest in one? I'm a casual pixel artist and writer, so I'd be interested.

I guess it would go in General Chat. Most people who draw on this site either insert their art in relevant areas. If they draw Wario fan art they put it in Wario fan art threads and people who draw other stuff would probably make their own thread to showcase their art. I just guess there hasn't been much of a demand for a specific category.
 
If one gets made, it should either have different categories (which I would suggest against as we have so few members) or be a general Creativity section. Music, photography and writing belongs in its own section other than General Chat too.
 
Yeah, there hasn't really been a steady stream of art from various users in a while. If it were to be implemented only a handful of users would probably use it and even less would fully take advantage of it.

Agreed. We've already got the (now very quiet) roleplaying forum. We don't need another one that's all super quiet and deserted.
 
The issue with the roleplaying subforum, as far as I can tell, is that this isn't a community that has ties in roleplaying/writing. forums I've been to with big roleplaying sections often have a lot of writers and such. Or are involved in games that have a focus on writing and such. Wario is more of a dumb fun kind of series, not character or plot focused, generally.

I mean I'd be way willing to bring in the ideas from my old roleplay group, and try and see if I could organize one that might have more steam. I just don't know if the community around wario would naturally form in a way that'd encourage it.

I don't mind the roleplaying section, I just over complicate things and end up not meeting anyone in the story! xD
However, I'd love a General Art section, or a "Media/Studio" section, to post stuff like a portfolio, pretty much like the Pokecomunity has.

General Chat means what it says in the title. So that means anything not covered by the other sections, general artwork included.
 
Well, it's not APPARENT, but that's me getting into semantics. (For the record, the semantic part would be me going "Well, showcasing art isn't really much of a CHAT. It's more of just a showing people things, and they might comment on it." I also get confused because general chat is also the name of the category.)

I see your point. The idea was separating fan work from general chat. I agree with that, but I don't think it's going to be done, as this is a Wario specific forum, it's not supposed to give much highlight to other subjects, even though the forum still welcomes it... I don't know if I'm clear on that...

I'd say if people have their own thoughts and opinions threads to talk about what's on their mind in gen chat, you should create your own art thread there. It may not be chatting per se if you want to use semantics, but it can always spur discussion based on what you post.
