I suspect this probably isn't going to be a heavily contested poll (Captain Syrup has always been the most popular Wario villain, at least as far as I can remember). But regardless, which of the Wario Land/platformer villains is the best one? Or your favourite?

Yeah, Rudy and Syrup are probably the best 2, and that's most likely because they got covered in more than one game, and thus were given more fleshing out.
Pretty much. Of course, the fact that the Black Jewel and Terrormisu were just not interesting villains didn't help their cause much.
Voted for Rudy. I don't think Dr. Mario 64 really helps him when he's so weak in that game wanting to just cure his cold, but it's nice he's in that regardless. I like his design, the fact he tricks Wario, is the only boss that can kill him, and started his hilarious fear/hatred of clowns.
Captain Syrup and Shake King are also great choices. There's really no point in talking about Syrup, but Shake King had a pretty great boss battle and powers, and it was great to see Wario actually go up against more of a brute character as the main antagonist (Even if he does have magic).

Heh, this made me laugh a bit. I guess Rudy was the start to the 'evil clown' trend the series had, the one which Clown-a-round and Chortlebot continued in typical nightmare inducing fashion.
Your post also makes me kind of despair how much of a wasted villain Rudy is. I mean, at least Captain Syrup got a second antagonist appearance before dropping off the face of the planet for about a decade. Rudy the Clown would have worked brilliantly in another Wario Land title as the villain, like say, Wario Land 4.
As for your other choices, I agree. Captain Syrup is an obvious favourite (the fact she actually got multiple appearances had something to do with that), and the Shake King was actually a kind of cool villain. Blatantly obvious and somewhat cliched I'll admit (he's basically Wario mixed with Bowser personality wise), but come on, there was no ignoring that the guy looked badass:

So while he wasn't great characterisation wise, he had his strong points.

...On a more serious note, Bobo takes my vote. I like birds. I like bosses. I like the Black Sugar Gang. Mix those together and you get Bobo! Although Rudy and Syrup are fantastic villains too and are right up there with Bobo in my opinion...

Hm, I've never really liked Rudy too much, and Golden Diva really isn't all that special in my opinion. Because I don't know any of the other choices of the poll, it's definitely captain Syrup. It would be her anyway, because I really like her. I've really enjoyed all the different machines she had in Wario Land II.
Oh, yes, I really like the black sugar gang and their theme.

Rudy was pretty interesting and quite unexpected if you didn't take the time to think about the Mysterious Figure. Him turning out to be the only true bad guy (Except possibly Mad Scienstein) in the game after you beat him was really surprising, though, because you'd think all the other enemies and bosses were working for him, but they were actually the good guys and trying to stop you from reviving him.
I don't think there's really a contest here IMO
Out of all the villains in the series, Captain Syrup and the Black Sugar Gang is the one that stands out the most to me. She and her gang have a ton more character and personality compared to a lot of the other villains in the series, which while not bad per say, are a bit one note and flat by comparison.
Plus Captain Syrup just goes great very well with a guy like Wario.

A big, fat Agree from a diehard Syrup fan!
She's as iconic to the Wario Land series as Bowser to Mario's games, and she is every bit of a greedy, sneaky treasure hunter that Wario is.
