I liked them at first since it felt like a more elaborate way of showing your reaction to something. But now that they're built into websites and apps they're overused and meaningless now.Sometimes I wonder if twitter intentionally puts gif the responses as the top responses to popular tweets.
Ill often look at the replies to popular tweets, and have to go through a ton of gif responses with like 1-2 likes before actually getting to the real responses with likes/retweets/responses.
They're as meaningful as reacting to stuff with a string of random emoji.
