Not a fan of the baby characters tbh. I feel like it's a waste when you could other cooler and more obscure characters instead of just aging down existing characters .

I usually feel very similar. Tennis Fever gets a pass from me because I find using them as a plot point to justify Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario and Waluigi relearning their skills, aka likely leveling up, pretty clever. In general I don't like them when they are just roster fillers, like Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina in Mario Kart, but they can serve a purpose.

You know what, I'm glad he's not only finally here, but also created under Camelot's supervision. I'd feel less appreciative if he initially showed up in Mario Kart or something, but Waluigi's original creators getting to experiment with a persistent concept from other Mario games, using their own baby to bridge the gap? It's almost poetic!
