Games you just finished.

Pretty self-explanatory. Talk about games you just done playing.

Personally, I beat Mega Man 8 today for the first time. It was pretty fun though I will say that was the probably the weakest game in the main classic series (Rockman & Forte included) apart may be for 1 but it gets a pass as its the first game. The gameplay feels sluggish at first, buying the Hyper Slide negates that aspect a bit. What also negates that aspect is getting good with Mega Ball, this weapon alone makes this game way more fun. That and the Rush Motorcycle. I think it's still a really fun game when you try to use starts like that. Would definitely replay again.

I finished Lost Judgment about a week ago. When I first heard that this sequel was going to have the protagonist become a part time advisor to a high school, I thought that was lame idea. I ended up enjoying the story, side stories, and the minigames.

The main story isn't as strong as the first game, but it's still good.

Yesterday, I finished Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution (Steam Version). The game released this year in August. Kind of an interesting marketing idea, the idea of reviving a scrapped GBA game. I heard WayForward partnered with Limited Run Games for the physical GBA release. I always hear nightmare stories about LRG, but luckily I have been a digital-only person with games for awhile.

Imagine if Nintendo released a new Wario Land game today, but it was in the style of a GBC or GBA game (I know they would never do that, but fun to imagine).

Overall, the game is fun and I understand why people consider the Shantae series the spiritual successor to Wario Land. I also heard they started development on a new entry.

On Wednesday, I finished AdHoc's Dispatch. AdHoc was founded by former Telltale Games members. I remember being sad when the news came out that the original Telltale when bankrupt. In a sequel, I think the actual dispatching gameplay needs to be longer and more punishing. If you fail too much, it should give a Game Over. Currently, you can do a bad job dispatching, but the story just progresses anyway. Near the end, the game introduces a health bar which would've benefitted earlier sessions. I'm glad they made a game I liked and it seems to be doing well financially, so there is a hope for a bright future with these creators.

Yesterday, I finished the final DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 called Mystery Ecclesiae. I beat the main game in April of this year and loved it. The newest DLC came out this month, but I found this one to be a frustrating experience. You are trapped in this new map, your items are limited, and you have to avoid being seen by the guards the entire time.

The guards were the worst part of this. The whole time you are not supposed to be seen by them, but I had to knock them out to get past them. I also stole items, thinking I would need them later (some I did need). These actions created a bigger headache: surrendering to guards will now give you an instant game over. Also, because of the stealing and knocking out of guards, NPCs will run and report me to the guards. In the main game, there used to be a way to pay a fine to the guard or accept a punishment that wouldn't mean game over.

There were many moments janky moments where I couldn't progress the story or get a important item, because of the guards or people reporting the guards. There's also moments where I activated dialogue scenes and everything seems safe, but once it's over the nearby guards or other NPCs suddenly get hostile and I'm running for my life to hide. One of the worst moments was when a main story NPC gave me permission to explore the map without consequence, but this still didn't affect the guards' behavior. They were still out for an arrest that would give an instant game over. Even when I won against the boss and the NPCs thanked me, I had trouble avoiding the guards to exit the DLC map to officially finish it.

Somehow, I prevailed and beat it. I really don't think this DLC expansion pass was worth it.

Yesterday, I beat Marvel Cosmic Invasion. I liked how the first two Marvel vs Capcom games looked, but I was never really into fighting games. This was a great game for me. Making a visually inspired MvC beat 'em up game with tag-team mechanics was a good idea and it was well-executed. The art is pretty and the animations are fun to look at.

One surprise for me was finding out that this game brought back a lot of fan favorite voice actors. I had no idea Josh Keaton was coming back as Spider-Man and Steve Blum back as Beta Ray Bill.

Apollo Justice Trilogy!

well okay I'm still on Turnabout Time Traveler but close enough?
honestly I do NOT get the hate for Dual Destinies it has arguably the best prosecutor in the series, Athena and her new gameplay mechanic is such a joy it's all great stuff!

I finished that trilogy in late 2024 and had fun. I think you'll continue to have a good time!

Yesterday I beat

It's a weird crossover and a weird game. It's a sidescroller shooter/bvrawler with some fun ideas (interacting with the background and Mortal Kombat-style special moves) and the bits that seem jank and impossible are doable with routing, but they didn't do themselves any favours by burying necessary techniques in the manual. I intend to one-credit it one day.

Awesome taste! I'm still working on the third game from the Phoenix Wright Trilogy. It's a fucking gong show!

I just beat Wario World for the first time. I played this previously on the GameCube, but gave up at Pecan Sands when I ran out of coins for continues. I think my mistake at the time was trying to rush it.

This time playing it on NSO, I took my time getting all the statue pieces to upgrade my health. I also had more coins this time for continues. It was a lot more enjoyable this time, even though I still had moments playing this where I felt like I was going to go crazy.

Did you get the Japanese final boss?

I wouldn't know how to even activate that. I only saw two options for Wario World on NSO, the American version and the PAL version.
I'd assume you'd have to have a Japanese Nintendo account and download the Japanese version of the GameCube NSO. Not sure though.

Might as well log what I'm able to finish nowadays here too...

I got to the end of the October '25 demo for Telegeddon, the latest original project from Eyes in Everything, most known for previously creating some classic Mario fangames yesterdecade. Answering the question if it was worth the price is N/A, since their work has always been free, but as for my enjoyment... I liked what I played! It's a 2D platformer where you defeat enemies by performing in WarioWare-like rapid minigames, with some elements from Paper Mario as well like badges, level-ups, and that element of platforming. The presentation is delightful, full of lots of original artwork in an offbeat, yet unique and detailed style. It also plants the seeds for an interesting, even somewhat dark story revolving around the main villains... though it may take a while to get there if you don't love to read.
I would recommend it for players with a day to kill, who don't mind getting invested in something that's shaping up to be another huge game like the developer's last!

I finished Pizza Tower for the first time:
20251221160533_1.jpg

I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did. I'm genuinely having a hard time giving any major criticism here. The gameplay feels amazing, the levels all have unique gimmicks that makes them stand out, the humor is really funny. At first I was worried I wouldn't like the game due to maybe the gameplay being repetitive and the humor just being vulgar for the sake of it but nope, I do not regret buying it. Probably my favorite indie game I played.

I finished Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.

It reminds me when a game series gets a smaller scale entry on a DS or PSP, but it's still a fun hack and slash with the weird charm of a suda51 game.

This game is also
connected to suda51's other games. The killer7 connection was the only I appreciated, because it's the only other suda51 game I played beside the NMH series.

Happy to hear you liked it! Btw, did Snotty make it?

Just beat Hard Mode on Antonblast the other day and now I'm playing S-Hard mode

And HOLY SHIT is it hard! :antonshook: I've died more times on the first level than both my playthroughs of Normal and Hard combined!

I'm not complaining though. I asked for this, and Summit delivered!
