Puyo Puyo

My gut feeling tells me that we are only going to see characters that have appeared in 20th Anniversary, since they are really the only ones who ever see any usage outside of the mobile titles, wouldn't mind to be proven wrong thought and if they did bring back other Compile era characters it's probably pretty obvious who I'd like to see back the most.

Oh yeah and Oshare Bones, is also someone I want to see again, if we are considering lesser used Fever series characters as well.

Very well written though I disagree a bit with the Hatsune Miku part. I think it's safe to say that the market for her is a lot more visibly obvious relative to Puyo so I can't really fault Sega for still being hesistant with Puyo.
 
Oh, I have no doubt that Miku has a much more obvious and larger western following, but there is something to be said about the snowball effect that was brought up in the post, because all things considert, a lot has happened in the past years when it comes to Puyo and the west, it's exactly what I meant when I said that the awareness for it has grown.

Heck the post didn't even mention the Sonic Runners X Puyo Puyo Quest collab, which was brought into the west with no strings attached and raised a lot of false hope for many fans who thought that it could mean positive things, pretty much setting the stage for the Cranky Food Friends disaster, which showed just how vocal and persistent people have become over wanting a non-reskin Puyo Puyo in the west.
 
A part of me wants to think Cranky Food Friends was just a ploy to prove whether or not there are vocal fans...but that'd imply they have intelligence, and I seriously doubt that.

That said, I would hope this means good things, but we'll see.
 
So far so good. Now I'm left wondering just how grindy the game could end up being and what happens if you end up losing.

While we don't know much about her character as of yet, I can certainly say that I like her design.
 
Me neither actually. I just know it's not gonna happen and I find that amusing for some reason. I'm surprised Onion Pixy and Dongurigaeru managed to survive past 2 main game appearances.
 
Popularity in Japan I'd assume. I was honestly never a fan of Dongurigaeru (Onion Pixy at least has SOME character) sticking around, while others like Oshare, Tarutaru or Akuma were dropped, but it is what it is at least we still get Strange Klug from time to time.
 
I find his continued presence particularly boggling since he's never done anything or ever been relevant. Not that I dislike him but putting him over the other aforementioned characters is odd.
 
Aside from characters like Lagnus or Minotauros who aren't uberly likely to come back, but are at least still notable and big enough to be reasonable requests, I'd say Mamono, being the very original final boss and all. He also makes for a good joke villain, since most of his later appearences make fun of his demotion.

Jan finally appearing in a non-spin off Puyo Puyo game would be amazing.

Strange Klug might also count, he was in 20th, but isn't as recurring as other mains, but I really want him to stick around. I'd also like for him to get a role in the story again, but I don't see that happening here.
