Did you play Smash Brawl or 4? Super Smash Bro Ultimate seems to be a better version of those games. If you're not buying the game, because of one character, I think you're missing out.
Actually, I have a bit of a a theory regarding this. While the Ware cast gets a decent amount of background for the kind of game they're from, they're all still relatively simplistic characters. So, it's easier for people to imagine the characters a certain way they want to imagine them. And so this of course also applies to Ashley. We already established before that her base character consists of some popular archetypes that would attract a certain crowd. Considering there's pretty much always been people with this creepy mindset towards characters like her, it only keeps getting spread more and more. As such it has culminated into this almost weird cult-like idolization for her that's based on something imagined.A part of me really thinks by now that it's just her theme song, the memes that come with it and her being a gothic loli, because frankly, I'm looking at new WarioWare talk and fan works across sites, that has come with Gold's release and she really doesn't stick out that much, compared to everyone else, aside from her fans being particularly loud and Japan still favoring her. Little talk that I see about her ever even mentions much about anything regarding what she does in WarioWare and more just the character herself and her theme song.
At this point I'm more wondering why she keeps attracting people of this kind :

First Waluigi and now Ashley? Kudos to the Castlevania franchise for getting recognition after these years, I really love some of the songs.Glad most people's first exposure to Ashley as of today is stuff like this ツ

I suppose, though the sheer level of obsessive worship for her still perplexes me. We had at least one example of it here, with a certain member and I used to think that it was just a singular example, but no, there really are many people who are this obsessive over her and it honestly creeps me out.Actually, I have a bit of a a theory regarding this. Leave it to the Smash Bros community to get a little... insane over a character not being playable. Y'know, I would kinda prefer they don't show off new characters because I would like to be surprised when there's a new challenger that hasn't been announced. Sure you can always not watch the directs... but since this is the internet, good luck trying to not figure out the new characters announced.
I think this collective place needs to be wary.I suppose, though the sheer level of obsessive worship for her still perplexes me.
