Fair enough, I guess I kind of jumped to conclusions due to Kyon instantly joining in their conversation. Though that gyo person seems a bit legit fishy to me.
That being said, I kind of feel like we might still need to be a bit wary just due to how relatively big this whole Ashley outrage has gotten and there's definitely people on other sites watching us.
As it stands we still don't know whether or not Kat and Ana will be back as Assist Trophy characters, though with 40 confirmed and 50+ teased ATs we still got plenty room.
In light of the current events regarding Ashley I should stress that them not making the cut wouldn't be a major deal, but it would be disappointing, since it was nice to see them get that kind of attention. Nintendo will likely continue to pamper Ashley, but what are Kat and Ana (or any other Ware character) going to get? Not much of anything.
Also made what you could call an ''appreciation post'' regarding their AT.

Souw, with Ashley out of the way people who used to only consider her and Ashley followers who aren't nutcases and don't take the idea of alternatives as a personal insult, are starting to (slowly) eye other Wario characters to support, most notably Kat and Ana, who finally got a support thread on Smashboards and I even went and made a Tumblr post to promote the idea of them as newcomers as well.
I stand by what I said about how I would also gladly take the Assist Trophy again and I don't seriously expect them to make it into the roster, but I do enjoy the idea and I'm glad that other people are finally starting to voice their support, so despite the likelyhood of this not leading to anything, I'll still gladly support them all the way.

If they were to add another Wario rep into Smash, I'd pick Mona. She's one of the characters who best embodies Warioware as a whole; more so than Ashley ever could.
But at the same time, I'm satisfied with what we have. We got Wario's shoulder bash back, now all that's left I really ask of Sakurai is to bring his WL3-esque palette from Brawl back.

5-Volt's sticker has been changed to use her WarioWare Gold artwork, rather then the Game & Wario one, like in the original version of the Gamer stage.
I can only make out the outline of Ana's sticker, but I think it's safe to say that all returning cameos will get the same treatment.

Teensy weensy nit pick but it's gonna annoy me that the two assist trophies are gonna still be using the G&W designs.
They did give Ashley red eyes for her Assist Trophy this time around, so that's one step closer to the Gold design at least, even if there are still going to be inconsistencies with the sticker cameo.

Like, seriously what happened to everyone's socks in Gold? Did Crygor invent a new washing machine but it was a prototype that only worked on socks, and it ended up malfunctioning in operation when everyone put theirs in?
I actually hadn't noticed but it's still gonna bug me a little since I'm just a stickler for details like that but since Smash Bros is a mish mash of different things just gotta accept it.
It's more because of just overall consistency rather than me preferring one set of designs over the other.
I'm getting really, really sick of the terrible rap Ashley's fans as a whole are getting because of maybe 3 people being extreme about it, and the rest being 4chan's /v/ just being themselves. Every single time I see Ashley mentioned on /v/, the same word is thrown around: "pedos." No matter what, it always goes to that, or talking about how Ashley's fanbase was "always obnoxious" when it was just a few certain people making the threads over and over again, but /v/ being /v/ (and ignoring what isn't in their current favor in an argument) just decided that Ashley isn't allowed to have fans that aren't also pedophiles. You can like K. Rool without wanting to bang crocodiles, but you are not allowed to like Ashley without it being sexual in nature.
This, unfortunately, has made its way over to Twitter, which is going to make people who like her look even worse to people who aren't normally interested in video games. It somewhat reminds me of that huge thing over Fire Emblem having the headpats and touching removed, where one person said "well a true fan wouldn't want that stuff in anyway" without knowing what the actual argument/backlash was even about to begin with. Ashley is going to be forever associated with lolicon artwork (which some people like, I don't judge tastes,) but for those who have no interest in her "like that" whatsoever, she's ruined. Even if she would miraculously get in as DLC, there's going to be some social issue about males playing as her, all thanks to Twitter and /v/ being their usual selves.

I’m really active on Twitter and I can confirm that Ashley’s reputation there is pretty much ruined because of those two idiotic fans.
Nintendo’s account tweeted a link to a GoNintendo quiz where you could find out which WarioWare character you are the most like and literally all I saw in the replies was either those immature drawings of Ashley getting beaten up brutally or people warning us that rabid Ashley fans are coming.
Two dumb Ashley fans caused the downfall of this character and now people just think that every Ashley fan out there is a bad person or a pedo.
In fact, the drawings of Ashley getting attacked were so frequent that I felt the need to tweet about the matter:

I was in that Tweet thread earlier this morning, and there were maybe 2 people talking about Ashley in Smash for every 20 "OH GOD HERE WE GO, HERE THEY COME" posts complaining about her fans.
People should be glad Ashley is in the game in the first place. She has already gotten way more attention than the Wario Land series as a whole.
Multiple songs, a trophy, and an assist trophy, she even got a mii fighter costume!
But no, that's not enough.
They didn't have to pick her at all, you know.
They could've picked Jimmy or Mona or 9-Volt instead, characters that I'd consider much more classic to the series than her.
So be glad they listened to the "hype" surrounding her at all.
I'd like to see more Wario Land representation too, but you don't see me going around boycotting the game because of it, or acting like Sakurai is a terrible person for it.
Smash 4 removed Wario's charge altogether but I still bought the game (both versions even).
I'd also love to see, for instance, Captain Syrup as a playable character, but I don't act like Sakurai owes it to me.
Other things are just more important to Nintendo, and I get that. And the rabid Ashley fans should get that too.
