What's a series you like/love but you don't want to admit it?

Oh, next gen is great yeah, is the one with picard. If i were to recomend a series to you, Id tell you to watch deep space nine, though : p Its my favorite, it focuses on a space station instead of a ship. And the story revolves around conflict between different species of aliens. The story of ds9 is more exciting and energetic than the other star trek series.

Next generation is cool too, a little slower, but it also has great characters and fun stories. Its definitely a close second for me : p I think youd like ds9 better though, haha.

I'll check out DS9 whenever I'm able to find it, and I have only just watched commercials of next gen when growing up haven't watched it just yet. I like the idea of Star Trek being a lot more energetic since a lot of series I've found tend to be more about like political roles and space patrol of the universe kind of thing aside from the very quirky original series with William Shatner(which sounds funny to watch later haha.)

Also I was wondering since you've watched quite a bit of episodes how you felt about parodies in general and stuff? Have you watched Galaxy Quest? It apparently parodies a lot of sci fi stuff mainly Star Trek I'm holding off on watching it till I get to watch some Star Trek series to understand it though.

I thought the Mythbusters finally packed it in a year or two ago? Or are they still active together in some small capacity? Could've sworn I watched a grand finale or breakup episode.

They ended the show in 2016, if I remember correctly. And they did it in Mythbusters style: by blowing up obliterating a cement truck with 5,001 pounds of ANFO. (Prior to this, their largest explosion ever was 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) so they added one pound to make sure their last explosion would also be their largest ever.)

I think the original Muppet Babies is still pretty funny and enjoyable as an adult. I see that there is going to be a new Muppet Babies series on Disney Junior but it has become really infantile. The old one was like Sesame Street in that even adults could find it funny and interesting due to the humorous skits. This new one just seems like every other little kids show these days.

And that leads me to another thing I admit I still find enjoyable as an adult. Sesame Street... Well maybe not the latest ones but for a long time Sesame Street stayed entertaining and charming thanks to it's cast and creativity. It's one of the few little kids shows to do classical Vaudeville acts or parodies.

This skit is legit fuckin funny.
This is great humor. It's almost a parody of what people think sesame street skits are like.
It doesn't talk down to its audience. It just wants to have some fun and make you laugh.
I mean when was the last time you've seen a TV program for toddlers where a character is trying to guilt trip another?
...while at the same time being absolutely cute and lovable.
That shit is great.
"BUT...IF FRIENDSHIP MEAN NOTHING..."

That reminds me of the looney toons babies series that was on when I was a kid. I remember that I /kinda/ liked it at the time, but also felt kinda weird about it.

Okay let's be honest here, we all have that one series that we really like, but we do not want to admit it to liking, whatever it's to avoid being made fun of by other people or some other reason. But now it's time to come out and admit those secret likes, so what is something you hold dearly to your heart, but you don't wanna admit that? Here's my answer.

Thomas the Tank Engine

Now Thomas has been a giant part of my childhood, I watched the VHS all the time when I was little, and I made a habit of collecting these.

I actually still have most of my collection, and it's pretty giant as well.
Now while I'm not into Thomas like I did when I was little, I still love the tank engine,
I still grab any new Engine I see, and I even still watch the series every now and then. (Only The Classic Series and the current seasons though, because S8-16 sucked bad.) Hell I even have the original books now, (via a compilation book.) now I don't usually talk about this, (except to my closest friends and family,) because Thomas tends to have a reputation of being a kiddy show in America, and it's hard to like something kiddy without being made fun of unless it's explicitly for nostalgic reasons. (He seems to be loved more in Britain though, for obvious reasons.) But despite my age, Thomas is still a big part of my childhood, and even when I'm 40yo, i'll still love the little blue tank engine despite it.

So now I want to ask you, what is something you hold dear to you're heart, but you don't want to admit that?

Comment away. (And it can be for any series, whatever it's a games, movies or books.)
