As you know, Waluigi's presence in the actual Wario series is fairly minimal. He's appeared in a few cameo roles in the WarioWare series as far as I can recall, via the microgames, and that's basically about it. Despite his connection to Wario in games like Mario Kart and Mario Tennis, he's never seen alongside him in his actual games.

But, would you want them to change that? How would you want Waluigi to appear in the series?

Is Waluigi even canon? We've only ever seen him in the sports games. He seems more like a Mario character than a Wario one.

Every Mario game is canon, bar maybe Hotel Mario. The sports games and spinoffs with Waluigi get plenty of references in other Mario games, like the platformers and RPGs.

And at the moment he feels a bit more like a Mario character, but his lack of role in the Wario series doesn't help there.

I'm pretty sure Waluigi's only appearance in Ware is the amiibo sketch in Gold. Not even any microgames... I have gone on record saying I would like Waluigi to get his own game beforehand, since him suddenly appearing in Wario's spinoffs would be very sudden. That doesn't mean I don't want him in Wario's series though.

I think the best way he could be used in a Land game is to have a "tag-in" mechanic like Donkey Kong Country where you can swap between him and Wario on the fly. His lanky build would offer up a unique moveset compared to Wario, so swapping between them could be used during certain steps in puzzles. If the game were to have reactions, he could even react to them in different ways from Wario to open up more potential.

Ware is a bit tougher I'd say, because there's already a couple of characters that I feel overlap with Waluigi more directly (Jimmy T. and Dr. Crygor), so it may feel redundant. Maybe he could set up his own rival game company out of anger for Wario not inviting him to be part of his own? Then when Wario outperforms him as expected, that's when Waluigi gets the invite to join the crew. Or maybe it could just be a one-off story to explain why he's not in the rest of Ware.

He probably could find the most footing in a completely new Wario title, but I don't know if that's ever happening. I've always been disappointed there was never a Mario & Luigi game where the two Ws begrudingly worked with the more familiar bros. in an adventure than pulls from both the Mario & Wario platformers; feels like there were interesting ideas to explore. I also had an idea for a Wario/Waluigi/Syrup game that was more focused on stealth: pulling off museum heists rather than exploring temples for treasures, where the three of them work as a team that cover each others' weak points. Waluigi is the charismatic thief who does most of the groundwork undetected, Wario was the muscle occasionally needed to break into places, and Syrup would be the techie with all sorts of helpful gadgets. It was just a thought that I didn't develop any further though, since it sounded a little too familiar to another stealth-platforming game...

What was I talking about? Uh, Waluigi in Wario games, right. I would like to eventually see him there, yes!

I've always had a rather harsh opinion of Waluigi and that hasn't necessarily changed but I've always been somewhat open about him appearing in something that allows him to develop more as a character. I agree with you in that I think he would work best in either a game for himself or a game with Wario that isn't necessarily tied to Ware or Land as it would just be abrupt if he showed up in either of those two series. I do think there are some interesting scenarios that could be tried like your idea for the duo showing up in the M&L series or a brand new game like the Wario/Waluigi/Syrup game. Unfortunately it seems like no one really wants to do anything with outside of Camelot. Next Level Games seems like a developer that could do something interesting with Waluigi potentially.

I meant canon in the Wario games. The Land and Ware games are so distinct from Mario that they feel more like their own separate Universe

Sure Mario had a brief cameo in the first Wario Land game, but that was it. Since then, Wario grew to become it's own independent franchise.

Tbf, I don't think there's much of a Mario canon anyways. They could add any characters to any game if they feel like as long they fit. The only real continuity is the fact it's the same characters with the same personalities.

I always wondered why he wasn't in the WarioWare games.
Nintendo has always been rather weird with things they didn't make. Compare Nintendo's treatment of Waluigi to Toadette's, another character that was just created to be a partner character in a spin off.

Similarly, Nintendo is also kind of strange when it comes to Rare's contributions to Donkey Kong, (Jungle Fever, No Kremlings in the Retro Studios games, Bananza).

Now I'm imagining Waluigi in Wario Land, and I think it would be cool if he had seperate transformations/reactions! Like Noise in Pizza Tower

I always liked the idea, its the perfect amount of surprise

Well, they clearly changed their mind on the Kremlings and content from Rare's games, as anyone who's finished Bananza will confirm.
I would say that's more Nintendo throwing a bone to fans rather than Nintendo changing their stance. By "weird" I mean very pick and choosy, rather than completing ignoring or going against anything they didn't make. Otherwise, they could've probably changed Donkey Kong's design long ago. Of course we don't really know a lot about how Nintendo really works and so it's all speculation but Nintendo does have a reputation for not being very receptive to audience feedback unless something really bombs. Hopefully with the older generation stepping away and some new blood stepping up more, things will change but we will see.

Though, I don't care one way or the other about Waluigi, it would be funny to see him in the fat form.
Dude is shaped like a pencil:waluigithumbsup:

I'd like it of they try to orient Waluigi reactions in a certain gameplay style. For example, make Wario's reactions lean more into slow paced puzzle solving while Waluigi's could be more fast paced and offensive.

I'm (apparently) Waluigi ""hater"" number 1 but honestly seeing him in ANY Wario game could be awesome! I wonder how his general movement would be like, something that would ground any game he is playable in as having that Waluigi feel to it (similar to the roll in DK games or the shoulder bash in duhhh)

honestly I'd imagine him dashing in all fours like a skinwalker lol

I was looking for a Wario-themed banner to use for this site and I found this art which reminded me of this comment.
I think this could be a good direction if they ever did make a game based off your idea. Seeing all of Wario's old enemies come back and work for his brother(?), along with some new faces, would be pretty cool.

God that would be such a cool idea. Having Waluigi run a rival WarioWare Inc style company would be pretty awesome.

Faust always coming in with the best Wario fanart!! Though I'm not sure how'd I feel if Waluigi's team were all of Wario's villains. Syrup I could get, but the rest seem either truly defeated from their last appearance, or stuck being in-universe fictional characters.
