We've got two WarioWare games, and plenty of Wario appearances in other spinoffs. But will Wario Land itself get a revival any time soon?

Hard to say. While games like Pizza Tower and Antonblast should show Nintendo there's plenty of interest in a Wario Land game, Nintendo generally doesn't pay attention to that kind of stuff and just does its own thing.

During the NSMB and Mario Maker-era, Donkey Kong and Yoshi platformers were released, so a new Wario Land game could happen. I'm not too optimistic, but the latest Nintendo Direct showed that they can still surprise us. I never thought they would remake Super Mario RPG.

I honestly don't know, Nintendo is kinda hard to read at times and who knows when we will get another Wario Land game. I mean if anything they could just remake one of the Wario Land games just like how they remade Super Mario RPG cause I hardly doubt there will make a new Wario Land game but I will still hope in the future that there will be.

Yeah Nintendo isn't exactly the best at doing what the market wants, and tends to just do whatever game development wise. But I guess there is that optimism that said games doing well might encourage them to give a new Wario Land title a go, especially if a third party offers to make it.

Yeah they're hard to predict. That Mario RPG remake was certainly a shock, as was a new Peach game and Super Mario Bros Wonder in general. So even the most unlikely things could happen here.

That's fair. I do think remaking Mario RPG might show they're more willing to do what people want than we think, but who knows, it's Nintendo. The company is difficult to predict at the best of times.

I really hope it does, it would be really neat to have more 3D wario games too. WHERE IS THE 3D WARIO LAND THAT PLAYS LIKE A MORE CHALLENGING MARIO PARTY?!?!

Didn't someone pitch a VB Wario Land remake before and Nintendo turned it down?

Yeah it seems Nintendo wants to bury the Virtual Boy as much as possible. Kinda like the CD-i, lol.

If they ignore it, they will never truly learn from their failures though. Could've at the very least acknowledge the VB's mere existence.

They're also not exactly the best at doing what the market needs, as well.

Its a catch 22 because on one hand Nintendo comes up with some great spinoffs and franchises but on the other hand they also come up with really terrible spin offs then wind up somehow abandonning the base franchise and just following the spin off until the game dies or just generally loses steam.
Example: Spyro Games on DS, Most Nintendo Sonic games, Legend of zelda (really want it to be minecraft or samurai warriors now but not zelda), Warioware (its a punk anti-format character, lets give him a format), Paper Mario (barely an rpg anymore), Banjo Kazooie (killed because nintendo wanted it to be a lego/minecraft game), Conker's Bad Furday (everyone said this game was amazing and perfect on release so Nintendo abandonned it), DK King of Swings (nuff said, they made multiple of these), Rayman (RIP Rayman only the rabbids remain as raymen just gets reskinned adventures mostly now after they tried to give him a 3D format to most peoples shagrin), The list unfortunately goes on.

Banjo-Kazooie is a Microsoft property, and you can blame Rare themselves for Nuts & Bolts' direction.

Same with Conker, Rayman (which is Ubisoft), etc.

I didn't know this I always thought Nintendo owned Rare then abandonned them because like Nintendo is known to do when people want more money they snub them. As is the case with Nintendo literally creating their business rival Sony.

i honestly think so. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel franchises wise, taking a lot of old franchises that were popular during the GCN and GBA era and bringing them back like re-releasing sunshine, making metroid dread, even giving us our first decent paper mario game in years etc. Considering WarioWare's already gotten 2 full games and they're essentially trying to give the Switch it's last hurrahs before the inevitable new Nintendo console coming in a few years, i can see it happening soon or at least on the new console since most Wario games come out very early in a consoles life or very late.

Yeah Nintendo definitely seem to be bringing back less well known franchises more often now, so Wario Land is certainly on the table as a possibility. Maybe even Star Fox and F-Zero too.

Whether it'll be on the switch or the next console I'm not sure but the next console will surely release first with all the games we're getting right now. Considering two Mario series spin offs got remakes Wario Land is more likely to get some kinda remake than a whole new game. But I doubt Wario Land game are first on the list. If they were to remake any platformers I would anticipate it being Super Mario Land 2
