10 facts about you

I've read the same thing about many abstract art forms I love - such as claymation, puppets/dummies and clowns.
One middle-aged woman was so petrified by Jim Henson's Muppets, she would throw up and have a fit at the mere sight of Kermit the Frog!

Yeah actually that woman has a phobia let me link it's name " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pupaphobia " the specific fear of puppets, and there are clown toys and puppets that fall under this as well. Claymation? Perhaps you like Wallace and Gromit? I loved that as a kid.

You betcha! I grew up with classic claymation shows/films like Cosgrove Hall's Wind in the Willows, Wallace and Gromit, Bump in the Night.... as well as other stop-motion shows, like Postman Pat and Fireman Sam. The British were really good with claymation (back when it was still bankable).

These days lazy CGI has absorbed and tainted almost everything in the animation industry. I truly miss hand-drawn and hand-made animation.

British seem to really like that kind of stuff, and yeah it's quite a shame. Stuff that used to be stop motion or claymation like Thomas the tank engine are now fully cgi.
Bump in the night was really weird that makes me think of Clay Fighters mostly the main character reminds me of blob. Remember learning about Postman Pat from Ashens, Seems like you're also forgetting Shawn the sheep as well as this one pirate claymation movie and chicken run.

I was a huge fan of Thomas the Tank Engine. It's also really funny you say that about Bump in the Night. It was made by the same animation team, "Danger Productions", who worked with Interplay to make the ClayFighter games!

I'm forgetting many great productions. Chicken Run was terrific, and I love watching Shawn the Sheep (even if it came out in my late teens). A rare exception today, since most shows are now remade with CGI, like Bob the Builder, Thunderbirds, Beatrix Potter/Peter Rabbit, Bananas in Pyjamas, Fireman Sam, etc.

Bananas in Pyjamas damn that was my show, I loved it as a child. How could anyone not they're bananas climbing down the stairs what more could anyone ask for. That is such a strange coincidence no wonder it reminded me of Clay Fighters. Making me want a Clay Fighter cartoon now, need some Sumo Santa ass kicking right about now.

Some children's shows hold up fairly well even now although this isn't a claymation I'd say stuff like Arthur or Mr. Rogers' neighborhood also fit the boat. Thunderbirds oh I remember there was a parody show of that which aired on Cartoon Network. Forgot the name of it though, however another thing animated closely to these two things would be Team America World Police, which is a movie with puppets.

Rat in a Hat was my favourite in Bananas in Pyjamas. I still say "cheese and whiskers!" when things go wrong. And you're right, Arthur has held up very well. I've always been a fan of the show. It still has great lines and parodies in today's episodes.

I'd LOVE to see a ClayFighter cartoon/film! Bad Mr. Frosty's rivalry with Sumo Santa alone would make a truly hilarious film. A former criminal snowman, fresh out of jail, waging war against an evil, sumo-wrestling Santa Clause trying to take over the world. Perfection.

Since there have been quite a bunch of fighting game related shows it wouldn't be surprising if Clay fighter would get one or well could have if it was a possibility. His C2 design is well nothing changed aside from turning into a good guy and wearing the baseball cap instead of the traditional top hat which he gained back in the N64. Their rivalry was the best thing ever. Sadly can't remember any episode of Bananas in Pyjamas it's been so long.

Yeah, I think Bad Mr. Frosty was evil until the N64 game. After C2 he became a lounge singer at a cocktail bar, before getting involved in a plane crash at the start of 63 1/3 - "After the plane wreck, which landed him on Klaymodo Isle, Bad Mr. Frosty is trying to change his ways".

I hated how Sculptor's Cut changed all the character stories/rivalries. It broke the continuity. (In Sculptor's Cut, Sumo Santa isn't an evil rival. He's just Santa Clause).

Here's a goodie...

Don't really remember much of the story as it's been such a long time, just remember that Sculptor's Cut had a really cool intro with that song playing when the meteor hit. Oh man this really takes me back, still been too long since I've watched Bananas in Pyjamas. Neat edition that they added in the N64 games was having Earthworm Jim and Boogerman. Since Interplay had something to do with all three games.

Earthworm Jim and Boogerman were also rivals in the story for 63 1/3, taking vacations on the same island (Klaymodo Isle). That's another funny story Sculptor's Cut got rid of, sadly. The best thing about Sculptor's Cut was the cool intro song you mentioned and the extra characters. It cut out loads of gameplay features from 63 1/3.
Anyway, I'd better stop rambling. Future members may want to add 10 facts about themselves, only to find a thread full of bananas and clay. Hahah! Huhwaht?:

Gonna do another : p

1. I uhhhh really like stuff like cuddling and holding hands >.> I even like think about doing that alot sometimes : p

2. I once used to want to be a writer for a cartoon, like there was a time when I was like way obsessed with The Simpsons (like the old episodes) and I was watching them like everyday and had s1-10 on dvd and junk, and I like wanted to be a writer for a show like that one day : p I dont like cartoons now as much as I did then, though. I still like them, like I love Bobs Burgers atm and watch the new episodes when they come on hulu and junk. But Im not as into them as I used to be when I was younger : p

3. I recently have started to think arm hair is cute : p I dunno why but I like arm hair atm : p

4. I can raise my left eyebrow, like the way The Rock does : p I should take advantage of that ability and use it more often : p

5. One of my dreams in life is to have a nice house in the country with a nice front porch that I can use : p Dont think Ill ever acheive that one but would be cool : p (also would need someone to live there with me)

6. I have a Lisa Simpson plush, two Lisa Simpson dolls, two Lisa Simpson xmas tree ornaments, a Lisa Simpson book and a Lisa Simpson keychain that I have attached to my bag next to my Amy Rose keychain : p She was my favorite character in the show, and somehow Ive managed to collect several things with her image : p

7. Tales of Symphonia was the greatest game ever when I first played it, and I liked it so much that I played a second playthrough directly after the first and spent that entire year playing that game almost exclusively : p

8. I dont like it when my coworkers try to talk to me about videogames. I feel that way for a few reasons, one of them of course being that they dont like the same games I do and make me feel lame for liking things they dont like, but sometimes I also feel embarrassed when people overhear them talking to me about the new Assassins Creed or like the awesome fighting and violence in the games that they like. I dunno why but it makes me feel weird. In fact they can be so bad that one time one of the guys asked me and another coworker about video game characters we crushed on, which at first I thought could be a cool convo, but he immediately started talking about some female characters uhhhh body parts in a lewd way that I walked away as quickly as I could : /

9. I like Japanese cars, I think. I have a friend whos a big car nut, and he likes to drive them as much as possible and takes me with him sometimes. I like the Japanese cars he drives : p He once had a Nissan that I really really liked, and if I ever drive a car one day I think Id like to get one too : p

10. I dont like my last name : p I also dont feel like Im at all attached to it or that it has any importance to me like other people do. Its a part of my name but other than that I dont really think much of it : p

H-holding hands, that's l-lewd!

Anyways it's quite awesome that one of your favorite games has been the tales of series and Symphonia to this extent. Nobody I knew heard about that game except for one person, so it'd be nice to get another fan and to try out the latest games if possible. As far as games go I feel the same, it's often easier to talk to people who aren't big into the latest fads or games on, don't know how many times I've been so out of whack when people talk to me about Overwatch or Assassin's Creed(aka Prince of Persia's executioner rip) exactly it's pretty weird how some seem to forget all about games of the past even on the older consoles like PS2 wonder if anyone would talk about Disgaea.

2. Do you still have old prompts of writing or no? Toons now seem to lack a sort of impact as they used too however I still consider some shows now to still be really good like Gravity Falls or something. Simpsons used to really be neat seems like now it's all about stuffing as much celebs in it as possible. Bob's Burgers was something that the artstyle put me off but maybe it's a good idea to check it out again seeing this.

Actually it seems like most people dont really care for holding hands, sadly : p I like it a bunch though : p

And uhhh I tried a few of the PS3 Tales of games, I played Graces and Xillia. Never got to try Xillia 2 though ; - ; And I had one friend who liked them actually, he was a huge ToS nerd too : p But by the time we met he had kinda grown bored of them and moved onto like survival horror games : p He was cool though : p And haha yeah, thats like everyone here in my town : p Everytime someone here talks to me about video games they ask me what consoles I own, and when I tell them they do this whole thing about how I need to go out and buy their consoles. But I like my consoles, I dont want theirs : p Is a pain everytime I have to deal with that : p
And Disgea, Ive always wanted to try that one! And I hooked up my old PS2 and have decided Im gonna start collecting for it now : p Will look for it : p

And nope : p A friend and I have some joke ideas written down in a notebook somewhere that we have come up with over the years, though. And we actually created a few OC's, one of them is a monster named Rodney. We have a comic about a picture frame who wanted to be a clothes hanger or something? Dunno its been a long while since we did cartoons : p But in the end he gets eaten by Rodney : p We always said if we got into tv wed do sketch comedy, would be cool to do an animated sketch comedy show : p (not like robot chicken)

And yeah, new Simpsons feels pretty terrible : / I think it feels trendy and lame. Its nothing like it used to be. I kinda liked old Family Guy but the humor of the current FG, its really not my style. I love Bobs Burgers though, I like the animation for it too. If you can get past the animation, its a way funny show : p
And I really liked Gravity Falls, I watched it with my mom actually : p I should get back into it.

Your friend sounds like my kind of guy, JRPGS and Horror Games, that's nice real nice. Hope he's played Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil, Clock Tower all the good stuff. Yes definitely feel the same, I love my older consoles as well from the ps2, and n64 eras. With the way gaming is now it's quite hard finding people to talk about games as it's mostly the current trend. Not to say that's bad or anything it just makes things difficult. You should definitely try it out now that you got your ps2 hooked, Disgaea plays similarly to fire emblem but in a more 3D retrospective if that makes any kind of sense since you can rotate the map and where you go.

Sketch comedy show huh? hah that sounds pretty funny actually. A'ww seems like the writing has gone and left well that's fine, and yes the new Simpsons is so terrible that series is basically on life support and begging to die. It's not the first time I heard good things about Bob's Burgers, just didn't give it a chance due to art style and for me art style is incredibly important. I'll take a look at the series again. Family Guy always seemed really weird as it played on Seth MacFarlane's odd liberal comedy, and I just hate the show tunes and the singing for some reason in it.

Haha Id like to try Clock Tower one day : p

And like FE? I bet Id really like it then : p Ill definitely keep my eye open for it, if I find it Ill tell you asap : p

And yeah? I dont think Fox will ever drop The Simpsons at this point : p I kinda wonder if theyll just keep it on forever : p

And haha yeah! I absolutely hate every one of FG's sing and dance lines too : p I absolutely hated it everytime they broke into song, or when they had the chicken fight with Peter, haha could not stand those episodes : p

Yeah the worst having to be cutting to that stupid country singer conway whatever, god country is so awful and now FG is doing that.
Simpsons as it stands is pretty iconic, too iconic to really let it go so just like the Pokemon anime it'll continue forever. Yeah Disgaea apparently was influenced a bit by FE in terms of gameplay though only a bit.

Haha yeah, those Conway Twitty gags or whatever his name is : p I think thats really rude to your audience though, as if they tuned in just to be forced to some stupid country song, its not really very funny.
And haha yeah Simpsons are way iconic, but kinda wish theyd either be original again or call it quits : p But at least we have the older episodes to watch. Actually all this talk about them makes me wanna watch it now : p

It's very likely that The Simpsons will only stop when a member of the main cast dies or stops working. It wouldn't surprise me if that was an inside agreement.
Unlike other cartoons, The Simpsons never replaces staple voice actors. Edna Krabappel's voice actress died not that long ago, so they retired her character in the show. The same thing happened back in 1998 - Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz were both retired after poor Phil Hartman was murdered by his unstable wife.

I just hate the fact that kids who grow up with today's episodes will never know the thrill and special feelings of growing up with the old quality episodes, when the show had real character and substance. It could make you laugh, cry and think, and be a really meaningful and uplifting part of your life.

Whoa, I did not know that about Edna. Thats really sad ; _ ; Now I wish I had continued watching it. Wow.

And yeah, the show was once a great and even somewhat deep show with characters you could really feel for. I miss those days, too : p Even the humor in the old episodes were better, the entire show felt more creative.

1. I don't mind talking about games with other people but I usually tone down how much I like something or focus more on trying to find common interests. Like I'll usually ask first and if they like shooters, I can say I haven't played many shooters but I love (popular Rockstar games) and Bioshock Infinite. Then I'll pull a "but I like this other game more."

2. I'm not a car nut but Japanese cars are nice. I'm not a fan of Nissan due to quality and I won't ever own a Honda or Acura but I'm pretty much sticking with Toyota and Lexus as long as I can afford it.

3. My name has a nice ring to it but I'm one of the unfortunate people who shares a name with a fictional character and people ask either jokingly or not if I'm their relative. Why yes, Sherlock Holmes is my great great grandfather, why didn't you ask! :S8V:

(that was just an example, my last name is not Holmes even though that would be cool)
